    its a 640 chambered in .357mag and you can also of course shoot 38 special out of it...as for the year i dunno its pre lock so its got a few years on her

    Ahhh, The original semiautomatic!!
    S&W J frame is a great pistol.
    Load it and put it away for say 50 years pull it out and it will work.
    Simple and effective.

    I love s&w revolvers, nice gun. You'll probably not want to shoot many 357's in it, especially with the stock grips. Get yourself either a Tyler T-grip or a set of 'boot grips' and you'll be a lot happier. If you want more info than you can handle go here:
