Lmao! Super clean barrel and shoot pretty accurate, I don't think I have to mess with the sights, but I didn't get to really try and sight it in, I just wanted to shoot and see if I could hit something lol. Is there a Google maps thing where I can finger out the distance of something. I'm nowhere near the place I went to shoot, I figure I could do some far far away land measuring until I go back this weekend.

I might pick up another Mosin soon. I'm torn between a hex receiver 91/30, a Chinese T53 and a Russian M44. I'm leaning toward the M44 because fireball :D I know the hex receiver can be considered more 'collectible' but to me it's an old, cheap down and dirty shooter so I don't see how collectible it can really be... The T53 is dirt cheap but will undoubtedly be beat to hell. The M44 is the most expensive option and the hex receiver 91/30 is in the middle. Thoughts? I already have a 91/30 with a Timney trigger and Archangel stock. Thinking about getting the M44 and transferring the new parts to that rifle and putting my 91/30 back to stock.

T53 and buy two, a lot of the t53s look like garbage but have good bores, if you can see all of them in one place, I'd Get whichever has the best bore, thought the t53 and m44 are great fireball throwers

I won't see them before I pick them up but the place I'll be buying from does a nice job getting quality firearms (except the T53s). The last couple crates of Russian Mosins they brought in looked really, really nice. The M44 is almost double the cost of the T53, I just want the tolerances to be tight enough to actually fit into the Archangel stock and accept the Timney trigger.

If I do end up getting them, I'm only getting one, running out of room in the safe and I need to keep room for some other goodies.

M44 mmmmm I just bought some more ammo at cabelas today, and it was super cheap too. Herters rounds for $13 I showed my sister in law the bmg .50 cal Round and she was like "WHY would you ever need that?!" I said.." home defense!" I'm in the market for a buttpad mainly for the shoulders so I'll probably stop by after work and get one from there so I can shoot this weekend.

I'm married with a little one so I'm not sure I could sneak a second safe into the house... My wife actually bought my current safe. It's good sized and she found a great deal and even asked me before she bought it if it would be big enough. At the time, it was big enough with plenty of room to grow but then her grandfather passed and I inherited 2 side by sides (not complaining at all, they're nice, it was just unexpected).
    Seems reasonable to me :notsure:

My wife shooting at the 1 1/4" thick buffalo. So I've decided to invest in milsurp ammo as I burned through 40+ rounds in about an hour's worth of shooting lol. It's just so much fun to shoot!aqanydam_b2c417de7cc6b0d7490db20a1874bcca09d081ae.jpg

I don't think I've ever seen a receiver for sale, hell finding a barrel is next to impossible.

Any of you ever mess with brakes on a Mosin? Just morbid curiousity, not sure I'd ever actually buy one but I saw an ad pop up on another forum and it got me thinking.

I wanna use ceramic brakes because they last longer, but if your gonna tow with the mosin, you'd best get the semi-metallic, they dissipate heat faster.

Yea I looked online and gunbroker has either the barrel or receiver last I checked, but never both, since they would have to ship to a ffl. Sucks. I guess I'm gonna have to buy another mosin and have spare parts.

Hey now, I even used the correct spelling and everything! At least I wasn't asking about breaks
I know the feeling, I saw it advertised, then started doing some searching and came across a build called the ultimate mosin project build. Of course, I get reading through that and I'm almost there... I already have way too much into this 'cheap' gun so why not keep going, right? :anonymous:

So I'm caught in a dilemma, buy a ex sniper rifle mosin for almost $200, or buy a mosin with great bore shitty stock for 150+ ffl. I plan on making this one a sporter with archangel stock.

Also want ideas on what and where to get a bent bolt. preferably without having to mail in my old one since I really don't have time to take off work and mail one in.

Also ideas on a good scope. Don't want something cheap, that's gonna fall apart with the recoil after a few hundred rounds.

if you can get a original sniper go for it cuz there just gunna more rare and expensive. you could always build a tactical mosin later

but if you wana build a tactical mosin
go on ebay I got a bent bolt from there for 100 bucks I know I over paid but I really wanted it. I also got the 30lb heavy duty firing spring which is really awesome to have because it prevent less miss fire from old surplus ammo. also I highly recommend the timney trigger probably best investment

Well after reading reviews on the seller, I'm gonna back out. I'd rather pay more from a reliable source than cheap and iffy seller. I'm just gonna shell out for something good.
