Mosin Nagant 91/30. Picked it up for $119 at Big 5.

I just shot it for the very first time yesterday. What a sweet shooting gun! It has this sound that I can't describe. It just sounds so hollow and mean... The fucker kicks back a lot too!

Mine was made during 1942 in Izhevsk, Russia.

Who else has a Mosin Nagant?

I've had mine for 6 years and it's still one of my favorites to shoot. They do have some kick to em but for the price you can't beat em.

Buddy of mine and his brother each got mosins under a similar deal, $100 apiece I think. They're glad they bought them, good guns. Gotta love classic rifles like that.

I had one with a short barrel, that thing kicked like a damned mule. The long is is pretty accurate. Heavy as hell but a straight shooter.

Mine makes me feel more like a man!

If you decide to put a scope on it please buy a nice mount for it and leave those $10 mounts alone. I made the decision to buy a scope and mount kit that did not exceed the price of the rifle itself and the scope fell off the rifle after 10 rounds. Needless to say my iron sights are back on the rifle.

on AIM surplus you can get a mosin nagant for 69.99 or 79.99 for hex receiver.
    I am ordering 2. 1 of each.

    neglect, mostly.
i've shot them before, very accurate guns all things considered. . . the one's ive shot never kicked that bad compared to other rifles of the same caliper. i didnt realize how cheap they were until reading this, might have to make an investment if i can find one near me.

I've got the M44 short barreled one and I bought a standard length one from a friend for $50. Love 'em.

For some reason, my front site post is crooked. How do you guys adjust the front sight? Since it's crooked, I'm having a hard time getting it dead center at 50 yards...

I love mine. Bought two from AIMsurplus.com and traded one for 120 .50BMG rds. So I'm completely happy with my purchase, not to mention; it's a great shooter. You can buy a synthetic stock pretty cheap and turn one into a great hunter (if you're not into the vintage look).
