i have the black one. $299. i give it 5 stars just because i havent had to resight it in. for as much as i have banged it around. want closer pics, i will take some mounted on my gun and post them for ya. it will have to be later though. even says that it is water proof. i myself wouldnt trust it. but i have had it in a snow storm and had standing snow on it. but you being in cali, you may not need to worry bout it.

Just wondered, I almost bought one but after the shop let me pull the trigger I kindly asked him to retun it to the shelf. Creeeeeep and some more haha. Otherwise a really awsome gun for the money, smoothest action under $400 in my opnion.

Definitly won't be disapointed with the Leupold.

Rule of thumb, the Scope should always cost more than the gun.
Nothing worse then being able to shoot further than you can see.

Nikon does indeed make a fine scope for the money. I have a 2-7 on my H&R slug gun and haven't had to touch the dials in 3 years. But honestly, the Sightron edges it out in clarity and brightness. I paid slightly more for the Nikon.

Check out Natchez for good deals on any optics. Optics Planet also has some fantastic deals now & then.

I've got a Millet DMS 1x4 and I am pretty happy. Redfield is coming back in a good way and they also have some decent stuff.

I think that may have to do more with the scope rings than the scope itself but I just checked one of these out earlier today and I must say I'm not impressed with the light transmission. My current scope, an oprey international, is much brighter and crisper. I really like a vortex they had so im going to take a much closer look at those.

Yea my rifle was the same way at first, huge creep, but I adjusted the screw in the rear and now it's a lot better. I was thinking about replacing it with a timney trigger but that will have to wait until after the new scope.

Yea thats beacuse they just got bought over by Leupold, not the same glass though redfield is only multicoated and doesn't have the same light transmission.

How does the millet hold it zero? How are the terrets?

Awesome deal kinda wish I had looked into the adjustment capabilities a little more but I ended up with a Remington and I'm a fan. It's got a Redfeild revolution 3-9x40 on it, so far I'm a big fan for $160. I like the old style leupold 1 piece base for rigidity.

What kind of base do you have?
I have a remington too but I preffer my vanguard, My Vg is guaranteed to shoot sub MOA, remington gets a little wacky shooting past 550yds.

I have the longer one piece base that was once designed by the old colorado redfield, leupold sells them now as the own both brands. I like the fact that it adds a little weight to, even though most people like lightweights. Depending on your caliber you may not like the fact that they do make it slightly harder to load. Not a biggie to me it's a bolt gun I'm going for accuracy not a speed shooter.

It holds zero really well, I havent had to rezero it and I have almost 1k rounds with it, most of it doing practical, combat carbine shooting. The turets are good, but I would prefer not having to take the caps off. I reccomend it for a good cheap 1x4 for a 3-gun carbine.
