That is soooo ridiculous. Any how, I think its time to take all them guns away and send them all to Canada.

Hey Walgreens! That is nonsense and total crap. How is firing that employee a good PR move, how is it good for anyone? The message I see is this: be a good citizen and protect innocent people, and you will be punished. That's absolutely ridiculous. If anything, keeping that employee would encourage more people to say "I don't have to put up with any shit either, I'm going to stand up for what I believe in."

For some reason this reminds me of the old lady who sued McDonalds for millions because she spilled coffee on herself. I will never understand the idea of protecting people from themselves. Seriously, how long can society babysit destructive people? I say we let nature take its course and thin the herd some. I'm just sayin...

um he said he has no knowledge of a rule banning guns, however he didn't say there was no rule. Also he admitted that he told no one,not fellow employees OR more importantly management. From Walgreen's perspective he put fellow employees lives in danger, the ends don't always justify the means.

he was licenses to carry concealed, that means he can carry in any place unless it's expressly barred. since there is no law forbidding a customer from CCW in such a store, why would an employee be held to a different standard if no prior rule exists.

No ones life is in danger unless the gun is drawn, brandishing a firearm escalates the situation to life threatening. no gun in sight, no situation. He's been doing it for 3 years with no incident and robbers escalated the situation to life threatening by brandishing and aiming their 9mm gun at the guys head.

He did not admit he was hiding a gun, he chose not to inform anyone of his LEVEL permit status.

    walgreens is wrong.

Imagine if family members of those that fired him were in the store, and that guy saved them cuz he had a CCW and he took proper action, what would they say then?

Or if they knew he had a CCW, but didn't draw it, and said family members got hurt, what would they say then?

Either way, it didn't go down that way...

If this is a joke, then haha, funny, I suppose...

If you're serious, then I'd suggest you bear in mind that the notion of a crazed gunman suddenly snapping and killing people is largely a myth. In fact, in the United States (or the old west, as you canadians choose to see it), a vast majority of shootings and murders are the product of drugs or other crime and related feuds and fighting.

Yes, there are Virginia Tech's, but they make news because they're so rare and appalling.

There is a large difference between wanting to kill people and getting frustrated that I have to repeat myself 3 times.

Despite my gun ownership, I have zero desire to ever harm anybody with any of my firearms. It's something I would be prepared to have to do, despite not wanting to, if my life or the life of someone else were in danger, and a situation I'd rather avoid at all costs.

So, on a serious note, I don't appreciate the insinuation that I'm going to "snap" very much at all.

How about considering that just because I and others own guns, that doesn't make us particularly inclined to kill anything? I do not understand what that makes people believe that placing a gun in someone's hands transforms him into a violent killer.

Edit: And I forgot, thanks for judging me without even having met me. You're an asshole.

I am always angry, usually its because of these damn Canuks coming down here to Texas taking our medical jobs because you guys have fucked up your medical occupations, where noone can support a family. And now our "President" is trying to implement the same medical care for us.......:D

edit: and I own a shit ton of guns.
