Sexy. Is that handle coated with anything? I'd give it a sanding to remove any varnish and wipe her down with BLO.

    Boiled
    Linseed
    Oil

I strip all wood handled things, varnish is the devil. BLO gets better the more you use it.

Is linseed oil similar to tung oil?

The ZT love is awesome! I carry my 0550 daily. Never had it come out of my pocket or caught it on anything I've been around-it does have a deep carry clip.

I picked up one of these for no reason other than it's cool. It's a Blackjack Samber Stag 125. The big downside it is tool steel.

You're seeing a bit of oil on the blade-I'll need to keep the blade coated because of the steel.

keep it oiled sure.....sweet looking knife, I'd use the hell out of it and get a good patina on it (or force one), the patina will help prevent rust

    Thanks for that advice!

There are a couple things about the Stag that made it interesting to me. First, it's an embargoed item and not being exported at the moment. Plus, each one is unique-the uniqueness (both) is the best part.

Oh look, my other expensive hobby..

I've seen some pretty nice knives, figured I'd share this beauty.
It's an Echo 5 from Dogwood Customs. I think I walked around the gun show 5 times, each time stopping back at their table before I finally said to hell with it and bought probably my most favorite straight blade yet. It sealed the deal when we agreed to barter Photography skills for black smithing skills.

Ya know its a good knife when it not only is a work of art but deadly sharp. I originally bought it for hunting season, but work has cost me almost another year of hunting.

Any way... here have some knife porn :D

I've been EDCing this one since early September. Absolutely love it. Spyderco Domino. Ball bearing washers on the pivot, flipper, and crazy good steel that takes an edge fairly easily but keeps it like crazy. I've got a deep carry clip on it that I didn't think I liked until I switched back to the standard clip - what a difference! First order of business was to get it hair whittling sharp, and wow... The rest of my knives don't stand a chance anymore... Looking forward to getting a loaded strop soon to take it that one step further - from stupid sharp to insane sharp. :)

Looks convexed, which is the best kind of scandi, if so.

Possibly? Does Convex grind sound more correct? I know he has done a few different grinds, on the same model blade so I could be wrong. While I've loved knives my entire life, I'm still learning terms and what every thing means.

Probably a scandivex or low saber grind.
