Perks: Personally, I'd never get any work done if I were in your situation, I'd be "working" on knives all day.

Custom Knife: Excellent looking knife - looks really solid too, like it'd be capable of heavy batoning work forever.

What's the handle material on that lmw? In the second shot it looks almost like it could be cocobolo.

Lifetime warranty too!! I recently wore mine out, and it was thru shitloads of use, and abuse. I called Gerber, asked if I could send it in, so they could fix it for me, and give an estimated cost of repair. Got the addy, sent it out, and 3 weeks later, a box shows up with a brand new one in it! :)

Looks can be deceiving haha. This was actually my second knife I still don't have the heat treating down yet, and the blade is pretty hard but not hard enough for heavy chopping. The plus side to that is the edge get extremely sharp and only take two passed on a fine diamond stone to make it sharp. So this round its a great kitchen knife, next round will be the chopper.

As for the handle, my goal with this knife was to make it from stuff I had laying around at the factory. Blade is made from steel that use on some of our cutting machines. The brass is from our foundry thats been around since 1909. The handle material is from the root of a hickory tree. I have no idea if it will hold up but its has some cool burl marks in it, so I figure Id give it a shot.

I don't know man, they might X-ray packages or something. I am pretty sure that knives over a certain length are considered "concealed weapons" on campus.
