You can buy one that lowers the level a bit, to the point that you don't need hearing protection without all the NFA crap, but don't quote on that

untrue. any device that reduces the db level would be considered a supressor and falls under the NFA act. A muzzel break/flash hider does not reduce the db level. Some may be louder than others but there are none that reduce noise.

I use the Aguila super colibri
    http://www.midwayusa.com/product/25...ition-22-long-rifle-20-grain-lead-solid-point

More quiet than my pellet gun and I can take down black birds with them.
they will not cycle in a semi auto though, you have to either manually feed them or use a bolt action. and yes they are very dirty

they may have been fake cans just for looks. Or they could have been real but would fall under NFA and require the $200 tax stamp, paperwork, and about a 10 month wait for the ATF to approve the paperwork.

All the info you could want on suppressors here
    http://www.major-malfunction.com/

anyways...Not sure why we'er talking about suppressors in the knife thread.

Mmmm...no. Almost all match 22LR ammo is subsonic. You might be thinking of powderless ammo that runs off the primer charge only. That stuff is worthless.

how about no? ive shot a shit ton of .22 of all sorts of different brands, and every single one has a sharp crack as the round breaks the sound barrier... ive staffed enough ranges to learn this, and to learn why hearing protection is important even with .22
