    Hey folks,

I am going to be adding a snubby for CCW to my arsenal- I already have a subcompact XD40 for CCW but I want to get a revolver for pocket or ankle carry, maybe wasteband if I don't feel like carrying the semi-automatic. I thought of getting the PPK for that purpose but I think I need a revolver.

I've shot the Ruger LCR several times and I really like it, but I think I want something I can let my girlfriend shoot single-action. I know some of the S&W have a recessed hammer for just that purpose.

What snubby's do you guys carry? I don't really want to break $400, but I will. :D

Ha! I don't want another polymer frame right now. I don't see a point in buying a glock 26 if I already have a XD40. Like I said, if I got another semiauto it would be a PPK or LCP, something small. I'm looking for an ankle gun here.

The LCR will probably win, unless Addisons has a good deal on something higher on the food chain.

I have the Ruger LCR .357. With low recoil .38 its a great weapon, with .38+P or .357 it kicks like an angry mule on PCP. Its such a light frame with such a short barrel that it hits and hurts bad when fired with the larger round. But all in all its a great weapon.

I've fired the PPK, the PPKS, the LCP and a 1941 PPK. I bet you can't guess which one I liked best!

Like I said- I would get the LCR, but I think I want something I can also fire single action if I want to. Anyone shot the S&W 638? Thats basically exactly what I want.

No man! The 1941 Walther PPK! I was scared to even ask who the original owner was... By far, the coolest handgun I've ever been able to shoot.

The only thing appealing about the LCP is that it will fit in a pants pocket, and obviously it's smaller and thinner than any snubnose revolver. It's definitely not a fun gun to shoot, and I personally I don't want my close-range backup weapon to be a semi-auto. I just think about the risks of clothing or fragments of, well, meat, getting stuck in the breach of a weapon you would most likely be using in a last resort, point-blank self-defense situation.

Foglights are for fog, not oncoming traffic!
442/642 is the pocket revo to own.
In re single action..I don't see the point in shooting these SA.
DO NOT waste your money on a 357 airweight....you will only shoot 357 out of it once and then switch to 38spl.

S&W 637, but bobbed to avoid hammer snag. The 642 would be a similar option. Could never get over the humpback look of the 638.

I love my Smith & Wesson 340PD .357 Mag AirLite. It's small, hammerless, and super lightweight. It has scandium alloy frame with a titanium cylinder.
