    I think this is somewhat of an urban legend (though I'm sure it happens). We all get told the same thing about East St Louis just across the river in IL. It was even immortalized in National Lampoon's Vacation if you are old enough to have seen that.

    I stay on this side of the river, and stay out of the bad parts of everything. Last night I walked 3/4 of the way around Busch Stadium because we got to a corner and I didn't want to go down a bunch of side streets I didn't know to go the short route to the parking garage. I had my mom and bro and wife with me and no gun since I try to follow the law. Too bad thugs don't.

    Dude, this happened to me. A friend and I got jumped by 6-7 dudes when leaving a bar. I didn't even know what happened, I got jumped from behind, beat to the ground and kicked in the face bad! I was lookin pretty bad for a week, but thankfully just bad bruises and soars.

    Turns out it started cause one guy talked smack to me saying he didnt like how I brushed his arm on way out (Its crowded leavin a bar, hello?), I didn't even notice he was talkin to me I kept walkin... then my friend apparently confronted the "offended" guy tellin him to relax when he got swung to the face from the side (another guy) followed by all jumping me.

    Everything happened too fast, I just remember rushin to get up, getting to my friend on the ground and security/cops showed up in seconds (Busy night street). The 'thugs' ran. My face was messed up and nose bled like crazy...

    It sure sucked, especially since I didnt even face anyone nor have a chance to defend myself. It amazed me how quick things get outta hand and how some idiots who are out to no good get off. Thankfully no serious injuries tho.
