Thought I would add this to see what everyone else take along with them.
    Here what I carry....
Pac is a Camel Back, military issue, since most caes on the ground no need for high tec cammo.
GPS with topo and waypoints marked, latex gloves, TP, paper towels, two MRE's and a fire starter. Flashlight (2), two pocket knives, Knives of Alaska set, (cup bear, cleaver, skinner, muskrat), sharpner, pencil, scent killer, Steiner Binoculars (military/marine style), small first aid kit. A few small plastic bags, like walmart, target bags. Hand warmers, extra socks,10' duct tape, and rope, well use to carry robe, but my wife got this exercise thing-ie, when she had breat cancer, has a pully system ??? We talked about this before in another post. I carry it, has two handles, and soooooo easy to drag deer with it.
I know some of you all might think "over-kill" but if my butt gets stuck out their for a couple days I'm covered. Plus out west, I pack more. No need to be cold, hungry, or in some sort of pain.....plus not as heavy as you think :D

Good post! I'm taking note for my pack. Are/were you military?

    I will add:

Switch that duck tape out for Gorilla tape. You'll be amazed!!!
Water filtration system or iodine tabs.
    Extra Batteries
and most important, a camera or camcorder (for the big kill)

Could you link me to that "pulley system"?

I always put a bag of Fritos in. If you've lit a Frito on fire you'd understand why.

Like the frito's idea.......the Knives of Alaska in my opinion are great, the clever with one smack will split an Elk pelvis, the gut hook is of course a no brainer, plus it heavy enough to go close to center of ribcage, the cub bear is good for close contact and the muskrat with it round tip, well nothing gets by it if you know what I mean. Plus it has it's own steel, I tied a leather through the eyelets and made a strap, so no need to lay down, just let it go. Thumbs up in my book, I field test everyone NO complaints.
As for a camera, heck I camo'ed a flashlight one year, and dropped it, to this day still can't find it. Not to mention the camera I dropped while 4 wheeling. I would have to tie it around my neck.........:D
