I got a GP100 6in and love it. This grips and a bit big for my hands but super comfortable to shoot full 357 loads all day.

.357 is definately in my line up for my future collection. I got to shoot one a couple weeks back, and I'm in love. Definately not something to shoot often as I bet ammo is expensive.

I own 13 guns of all different types and calibers. My S&W 686 7-shot stainless is my favorite. I would recommend the 6.5 inch barrel for accuracy and power over the 4 inch unless you really need it that small. I carry mine holstered while hiking, fishing, and hunting. It's also my bedroom gun. It's the best handgun to balance power and comfortable shooting. Also it will shoot the less potent 38 Special rounds for my wife and kids. Great gun!

I have the M&P R8 and love it. Its almost the same as the TRR8 but the rifling(so I've been told) is slightly different, and the with the R8 the bottom rail is fixed compared to the TRR8 which is held on by a couple of screws. Love the light weight and the kick isn't as bad as you would think for it being so light.

Bought two 4" 38 specials at the gun show this weekend for much less than a single 686 would have cost. Looking forward to upgrading the grips. Not my photos, but they look like this:

Look at the Ruger SP 101 or the Taurus model 605. Either one with a 3" barrel and stainless.

    Nada yet, just a Bestop
Just purchased my first .357 revolver. I already own a .357 lever gun. A friend was selling 3 different .357s and I couldn't resist this near mint 586 4" for $400. It is in absolute pristine condition with the exception of the wheel spin marks.

IMO,stick with the stainless stuff. Over time if you use it/carry it alot in any form the finish will suffer on anything but stainless. Nickel plating has a tendency to flake under heavy use,and bluing wears.

Other than that..the 686 in any form is tough to go wrong with. It's the one gun I've always wanted and never bought..

Sweet, another R8 owner. Shot mine indoors @25yds today. With over 7k rounds down the pipe, it still impresses me.

being a man doesnt mean you outrank your wife. no shame in running big purchases past your spouse before buying it.
