And this. The first thing I thought when I read this, was why in the hell is this guy married to the kind of girl he has to explain a gun purchase to?

I don't think I could get to the marriage stage of a relationship without the old lady knowing I have guns, and being ok with it.

 

So you do just want another one. OK, no prob.

In that case, it may just be a matter of explaining the differences better. My wife was like "why do you want another pistol for your birthday, you already have one?" Once they were side by side, she could clearly see the difference between a revolver and an auto.

 

Tell her to go make a and then go buy what you want, you can never have enough guns and ammo.

 

remember this, its easier to ask for forgiveness than permission, buy the gun, tell her you did, if she gets pissed and flips out, your the one with a gun

 

Actually, she doesn't care much. Last night she told me to get whatever I want... but I want HER to be like "ooooo yea we need that gun right there, a 6.5" barrel Remington 870 is a great idea. good job on finding it.".... followed with a "thankyou"

 

This, my dad didn't want me to get a shotgun, I went ahead and got one. He doesn't care anymore.

 

A 6.5" barrel 870 will put you in a federal prison. Get her talked into at least an 18" barrel. lol

 

Funny how that works sometimes. When you work to save it up, it gains value. Then you don't just throw it away at any given whim like with credit.

 

Dont put them in the kitchen.. she will never see them if they arent in the kitchen or bedroom. I suggest the basement if you have one.

Thomas Jefferson said "The beauty of the 2nd amendment is that it is not needed until the government tries to take it." and "The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government"

2. As others have said try to take her to a range and get her involved start off small with like a .22 and if she wants to go bigger maybe a 9mm as a good gun to plink around with. Try to make it fun and not just shooting paper targets if you can find shooting events around you where they do drills or scenario shooting that would be a great way to start as I got very heavily into guns after my first scenario compition and placing 5th out of 7 my first time because it was so much fun.

Not according to my research. Only a $5 stamp and registration is what I've seen from my research. I will research even further before purchase though as well.

Just go buy it,one thing I have learned in my 14 years of marriage, it is better to ask forgiveness than permission.

Another AK (apathy, I think she just gave up)
AR15 (Apathy, again she has given up)
I have a good woman, but she doesn't like my hobbies. However 1 thing I make sure I always do, I always have the money before I buy anything big ticket. I make sure it does not put us in a bind in any way, shape, or form.

 

I had mine watch one episode of Doomsday Preppers. She spent the rest of the evening watching TV. The next morning- "Go get your reloading stuff, and your rifle, and whatever else you think you need. I'll get the bugout bags ready..."

 

Plus firearms can be an investment.... My dad got a colt 1911 for 400 new when I was a kid, a gun shop offered 1300 to buy it.

 

And for those who aren't married, like me. Buy what you want now and don't have to worry about it later.

 

My X-wife said to me "If you bring a gun into this house I am leaving!" So I rushed out and bought one. Then another, and another. Finally I decided I couldn't get rid of her that easy so I left. Been happier ever since.
