I have a friend of mine wanting to sell his NEF 410 single shot shotgun for 75.00 it is in very good condition. My question is basically is it worth it? I never owned a shotgun and would be looking to use this for snakes. Any input would help

id get him down to $50. everybody has one of those guns. they sell them at walmart for like 90 bucks new i think. if you want something to keep in the truck for snakes it's a pretty good gun. that's all i use mine for anymore.

Thanks for the reply! I will just offer him 50.00 like you said and if he goes for then great if not oh well. I was gonna just keep in the truck anyway. We had a gun show recently in Blairsville Ga. I missed going to it(had to work) I am thinking he picked it up there and was looking to turn a little profit:notsure:

yeah if he was at a gun show he probably picked it up cheap. if you get near a wal mart today swing in there and look at what they sell them for and compare the way it looks to the one he wants to sell you. its just a barrel, a trigger and a hammer. not much that can go wrong with one. but no i wouldn't pay over $50 bucks for one. and it is great for something to keep in the back seat or a walk through the woods.

I paid $50 new for mine in 1986 so yeah I wouldn't pay $75 for a used one. I don't think they've gone up in price or quality all that much since then.

One minor correction though. If it was bought at one of the GA gunshows he probably had to give over $200 for it. And if someone tried to sell for less, all the other dealers would have them kicked out for not playing by the rules.

Just Kidding, only a slight exaggeration of some of the stories I've heard.

I bought one of the Rossi combos which, I think is basically the same thing, last year at Dick's. It was around $110-120, I think, on sale but that included two barrels, one .22 and one 20 gage. So yes, I agree $50 would be a more than fair price.

oh yeah. i learned to shoot skeet (or should i say "trap") with my NEF .410. if you can get good with one of those than you're in good shape. . . but that's when a box was only $4.00. and we thought that was expensive then hahaha.
