Name That Ammo

22, 9mm, 357 mag, 20 gauge, 12 gauge, 270... Then dunno maybe 30-06

 

I don't have any ammo pics per se but I found a 5-shot cartridge revolver cylinder up on the Santa Fe Trail that measures about 1.25" in length with a chamber diameter of 0.34". I have an idea but anyone else want to venture a guess as to the cartridge it took?

 

The cylinder is heavily rusted; since this is a pretty dry area (17 inches a year on average) and it was found well above the river valley, I'm thinking it has to be fairly old. Can't be from as far back as the "wagon train" days as that was before cartridge revolvers but there has been ranching in the area from 1877 to now.
