Trail Cam pics

A few my from my dad's land a few weeks ago.

 

Virginia has some big deer, got this one on camera but never saw him and don't know of anybody killin him.

Comparing the two pics, that's not the same deer as the year prior. The first deer is older and on the decline, his antlers are wavy and he's wider than his ears. The second deer is definitely in his prime, his brow tines go in a different direction, his antlers are very smooth and he's not wider than his ears.

 

That is a Nutria Rat. We have them all over the south.

 

You are correct. I was blinded by antlers for a second and had assumed it was the same deer. Turns out, there are 2 big monsters roaming the woods...only issue is I have a 10 acre tract of land that I can hunt, that is surrounded on 3 sides by different properties, all of which have high hunting pressure...

 

That's not much space. I don't know the laws up there, but if it were my place I'd plant a 50x50' food plot. Nothing massive, but enough to give them a reason to choose your land over others.

 

Different spot I have, just checked the cam yesterday to find this brute!

Just a couple, from the last four weeks

 

Got this guy last year and found his shed about 75 yards from this location. Hoping to see him this year during the rut!
