Looking to get an AR-10. The gun will be used for plinking, hunting hog and deer out to 250-300yards max, and if needed to stop zombies.

I'm on a budget like most people. I would love a LWRC, but probably have a DPMS budget.

I do have the skills to build one, but a gun that it already put together is fine aswell.

Yesterday I spotted an ad in Craigslist-before it was removed- and the guy is selling a DPMS ar-10 with 20" bull barrell, adj. stock, four mag's-two 5's and two 10's. Top rail and an Osprey 3x9x42 scope and a hard case.

I do not know the twist on the barrel. I spoke to the owner and he has five mag's through it. I will have my bore light with me. He's asking $1000.

I've read mixed reviews on the scope, the rest seems like it might work for me. I think that if I can get him down to $800 it would be a decent deal. The larger scope does not come with the gun.

    Any thoughts? Thanks

I am going to sub this. I am in the market for an AR-10 (still building my budget for it).

$1000 for an AR-10 does sound like a pretty good deal. I would check the reciever and barrel very carefully. JIC he didn;t break it in right and was slinging lead...

EDIT: Scope wise, I am not a huge fan of what he is including.
