Hey all I'm new here and am in need of help...I'm new to the ar world but not to weapons in general...so I picked up a DPMS oracle last night for 595 and started shooting it this morning...first 2 mags shot flawlessly next mag is where it started...it'll load and fire the first round then when it extracts it never lets go of the round it comes back and then tries to load another round and still never ejected so now it's double loading...I've done a complete field strip and cleaned everything put it together and same thing again..this has pissed me off beyond belief not even 50 rds thru it yet...any suggestions???

Have you tried different types of rounds?

Buy a box of Federal 5.56, that's what I shoot through my AR15.

Contact DPMS, your rifle should be under warranty.

I looked up your rifle and it seems to be A common problem with the rifle not ejecting rounds correctly.

Sounds like a defective bolt carrier group. Call dpms and they'll take care of you.

    Ammo should be good.

Buffer and spring weight? Gas system length? Barrel length?
When the brass does extract properly, where does it land? 2:00? 3:00? 5:00?

Take it back and get an LMT

Or call DPMS like it was said earlier, should still be under warranty

This. Something with the ejector is screwy.

Have you stripped the BCG and pulled the extractor off to see if there is something wrong with it?

The bolt carrier never releases the empty shell it just stays in there and the goes forward to try and load another round....yes I completely disassembled everything and all looks to be good

Also, double check that you didn't put the bolt back in the bolt carrier rotated 180 degrees. I just talked to someone that saw a dpms from the factory with the bolt backwards so the rounds were ejecting to the left "away from the ejection port"

IF your empty brass is getting stuck in the chamber that could be over lubing if it is dripping with lube. Or, could just be not enough lube on the outside of the bolt carrier.

    Good luck

So can you 1) load a round ...2)drop the mag... 3) rack the charging handle and eject that chambered round?

Check out my build thread (Beginning of Money Pit)
CHeck the grains on the rounds, they may not have enough. Call dpms and go through the steps to figure it out. I used to buy rounds from cheaper than dirt with my dpms and never had problems with the federal though:eek:

Look to see if the round is being pulled to the left against the inside of the upper receiver when this happens.

It should be pulled toward the ejection port as soon as it clears the chamber "obviously I know.."

Sounds like it's not even ejecting manually... the bullet weight wouldn't have an impact on that, and he's using Federal and Hornady, so it's not cheap steel casings getting stuck.

OP, is the bolt extracting the casing from the chamber and just not ejecting it, or is it simply sliding back and jamming the next round into the chambered casing?

I think his issue is beyond round quality since it won't eject a live round when trying to clear it.

With your DPDS can you put the bolt it backwards? You know how most have a notch showing the correct side. I have heard they don't.

Yes it extracts it from the chamber but will not eject it at all...first 40 rounds shot flawless then all of a Sudden this shit
