Well hope things go well for you and the wallet and that you get the gun back soon!!! Glad to see your youth version fired without issue!

    FINAL OUTCOME:

I got the rifle back from the gunsmith shop surprisingly fast. Total turnaround time including shipping was a little over a week. In fact, by the time I rang up to straighten out the mailing label - they'd already shipped it back.

The tag said: "Deburred and fitted chamber. Test-fire."

But with Christmas and New Years, it was a few weeks before I was able to get back out to the range, which I did today. Shot 100 shells off in 4 rounds of trap today for a score so bad I'm not even going to post it up. (nowhere to go but up!) But the 870 performed flawlessly. :)

I had a very similar issue when I got my 870, but it ended up being the forestock had warped and was dragging on the magazine tube as you cycled the gun.

I had the exact same issue with an 870 Express a few years back. After a trip to a local authorized gunsmith, as well as back to Remington, they finally just replaced it with a brand new one. I've had no issues whatsoever with the replacement :notsure:
