So wait, did Dick's stop selling altogether or just semi-autos and ARs?

Apparently, they're continuing to sell firearms, BUT I was told they stopped selling AR's and certain rifles for an unknown period of time.

Keeping a close eye on websites and facebook. Plus I have a friend that works for Dick's. I found out first from him when he texted me, then shortly after a friend texted me pissed off beyond belief because he wanted to order an AR, but was told no.

No need to be pissed. Go buy a gun from any one of the hundreds of other gun stores in the country.

Help me with the logic here, he had an ILLEGAL firearm and the proposed fix is to make more laws?

Seems it's going to be hard to put the cat back in the bag and as an avid supporter of the Constitution I'm okay with it...

LI local gun stores are far and few, plus very expensive depending on what you want to purchase. We turned to Dick's because they had fair prices. I bought all my hunting apparel and everything from them. And now I'll just have to take my business elsewhere too!

I've already heard similar rumors about Bass Pro and Walmart (no AR sales). All the big chains are probably not far behind. They are all probably worried about getting sued (with the public spotlight so focused right now) so they are going to wait to see how things shake out.

Is there truth to what I have heard that there are more gun stores in the US than there are McDonald's?

If that is the case it should not be difficult to find someone to sell you an AR.

better get your knives, hatchets, machettes while you still can there next. They will still sell you butter knives cuase you couldnt possibly do any harm with those.

So let me get this straight you stop sellin ARs but keep selling handguns. Looney Tunes I tell ya. All or nothing.

That's not really the point though, yeah you can still buy firearms anywhere. The point is that CTD came out with A statement like that, it really rubbed people the wrong way because instead of helping the cause of keeping America armed, they turned their backs on us and gave in to the anti gun crowd.

I dont understand why we cant drop things like PBS and make a bill to put our unemployed veterans to work protecting our children. I'm not saying full military clothing, but even just having a group of trained professionals that work at schools dressed as all the other teachers. I'm sure there are thousands of veterans that would volunteer to do it for free. Obama had said Sunday night there is no single law that can stop this from happening, banning guns included. What we need to do is get together and start doing our job as a country and protect our children
