I think the argument is: See how much damage can be done using hand guns? Imagine what could be done if he had used "military grade" weapons. There is no denying the firepower capability of an ar/ak type rifle.

And I dont think saying that CT has extremely strict laws or see how easily he was illegally able to obtain firearms is a good argument for keeping firearms unregulated. It just gives law makers a better excuse to make the laws even more strict.

Yeah I wouldn't want to be blasting 5.56 in my house. You'll end up hitting a neighbor or something even worse. 5.56 is a fast round.

Not even remotely close to the same argument... Read what I wrote, I was not arguing against owning an AR, I was arguing against the argument for why someone would 'need' an AR.

Maybe you would also be happy if they enacted a ban on modded Tacomas??? It COULD happen...... :D

I have gone to schools with armed police officers stationed at the school. There was no distraction or poor environment. I never even thought twice about it.

You missed my point. I am talking in the eyes of the general anti gun public. But I also disagree with that argument... You want to kill someone so we should make it easier?

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Likewise. I'm going for one of three pistols. Which ever happens to be closest.

Enact that now in a very suburban school district and you will get a reaction.

    neglect, mostly.
truly. . my older brother who's a bigger hunter and more of a gun "enthusiast" than me asked if i was going to buy one here soon. i told him, though i think they're cool and would be fun to have, it's simply not something i would practically need... ever

i have a shotgun for "home defense" and ever since i turned 21 ive been planning on getting a pistol. but if AR's disappear from available purchase, i wont be doing any crying.

same here. . . me and him played a lot of 2 on 2 basketball when i had to take gym. whenever he got the ball stolen from him he'd break out his nightstick and chase whoever took it from him . . . (jokingly of course) ;)

I don't need one, but I sure do like having one.
I have been to both, there is definitely a different feel with armed guards walking around. At least in my opinion.

This fiscal cliff is an assault weapon of mass destruction of a lot of all of our personal wealth forcing it down the drain even faster and I bet a shitload of people will be killing themselves over that plus all the extra criminal activity robbing and killing for resources that'll come with all the added economic strife but you don't see anyone moving to avert that happening. Yeah, sure, try to solve another problem that resulted from a different problem real quicklike with a bunch of spin because it'll help take away more from law abiding citizens. The guy's mother left her weapons unsecured, the health care system doesn't provide for proper mental health care and increasing gun control is gonna fix those 2 things and make us all safer? Not even close, just more complete bullshit to cover up advancing an agenda to further strip us of our constituional rights by using a horrible event for an advantage to play on people's compassion and ignorance in a time of sorrow. So thin, weak and shameful. If something needs to be done to prevent these things from happening, it would be better mental health care. Why not hurry that through next month?

I cannot stand that statement. If you are going on the terms of who needs what then no one needs cars that go over 75MPH, no one needs mllion dollar homes, no one needs 16oz suggary drinks (NY)...who are you or anyone else to tell me what I need or dont need?

no one needs anything other than food, water, and shelter...

also to comment on your balistics, there are plenty of .223 rounds that will penetrate less than pistol rounds. Do a little research

I could be wrong, but I thought his argument was that bans on high capacity magazines does not take away your 2nd amendment right or your ability to protect yourself
