    1. Making a firearm (pistol,AR lower, whatevs) requires an FFL? If these guys are making these, either using a 3d printer or a mill, they need a license, or the ATF should be throwing them in jail.

    2. Using any plastics for guns is silly and won't work very long.

    3. Why aren't these guys using DMLS? Direct Metal Laser Sintering?
Instead of a laser curing plastic, it cures powdered metal. It can create parts as strong or stronger than forged/cast metal parts. Using this process, you really can 'print' a useable part. http://youtu.be/DW-2xaIDtMk

    4. 3D printing isn't a fad, its a great tool for engineers and designers. I have been using it in various forms for over 12 years.

    # 1: Making a firearm for yourself does not require an FFL and is not illegal. Google 80% lowers. You can build a gun for personal use, with no serial number, as long as it does not break local laws (no full automatic, ect.), it can never be given to anyone, and must be destroyed when you die.

I call that complete horse manure. Not the technology where complex computer controlled/robotic machinery (so called "printers") could turn out finished piece parts from a software blueprint.

But the ridiculous notion of kids pushing a button and out pops an all-plastic gun, evil and capable of passing metal detectors yadayadayada...
