i'd never seen one of those before, i'd put one on but mom would be using the shotgun and i'd be using the pistol, and i don't think she could handle a 12g without a full stock.

ok guys, I have a source for getting an Ithaca Model 37 featherlight. It is a 1977 model (about), it is a slam fire gun (one of the biggest draws for me :D). It is 12 gauge and the condition is decent.

I am really thinking about picking it up if the price is right, does anyone know how much one of these would be worth?

I actually met the guy at walmart when we were both looking for ammo (dang it...no 22 again...not surprising). I mentioned that I was looking for a 12 gauge to have fun with. The way he was talking, he sounded like he would sell it for around 200 (give or take 25ish) and a brick of .22 thunderbolts.

If I get it, it would be turned into a trenchgun style replica or I would SBS it and turn it into a stakeout replica (13.5 inch barrel :D)

he also has as Stevens 350 tactical 12 gauge that he would be willing to sell for a little bit more, though I dont think that will be worth it to me lol

so anyone know the value on the ithaca?

I'm going to be getting a new barrel for my 870 with my tax return. I have been looking at the 20" with rifle sights smooth bore and IC choke
    [IMG]
or a 20" with just a bead sight.

Thoughts? This will be a tactical/ HD shotgun for primary use.

I'd get the 18" barrel to maximize mauverability inside, plus a short stock like the Hogue youth model.

Well I already have a Speedfeed stock and a 3 round extension so the 20" would be dead even with the end of the mag tube.

Then I guess you're stuck. I much prefer an 18" gun and would go shorter if it didnt require a tax stamp. Still might...

Not to be rude but would 2" really make that much of a difference?

    On overall length, yes.
If you unload the weapon and go room to room with that gun ready to use its very uncomfortable
I tried going room to room in our house with my AR(18" barrel, collapsible stock), dads riot shotgun (18.5" barrel and maybe 2.5"s different in stock length than the AR), and the pistol.
The pistol was most maneuverable and the shotgun was the worst IMO, with my AR being fairly maneuverable.

Understandably so. I have a S&W 357 and an XD 40 for HD as well! Always need a back up though! So guess my question boils down to rifle sights or bead sight?

Thats what I'm thinking. I would like to shoot roughly 100 yds with slugs as well so I guess rifle sights will work! Close range you could use the front post as a bead. Now to wait on Uncle Sam.
