M&P has ambidextrous slide lock, while the SA XD has ambidextrous mag release.

Shoot a Sig...I have a P220 in .45 and it is by far my favorite i've shot. I have smaller hands and am not a fan of Glocks for that reason as they don't quite feel right and the Sig aleviated that issue

XD FTMFW! XD9 4" owner here.

Jasmine, not sure if they are still offering it, but SA has a promo to get an additional 3 mags, mag pouch and nice little case with any new purchase. Was nice to start off with 5 mags. If you decide to get a SC, I think the promo comes with 2 shorties and 1 extended mag.

Yea, the promo states the additional mags may take 8-12 weeks for delivery, but I got mine 2 weeks after submitting the promo app. SA has very good customer service.

On the 4" though? I am not familiar with the XD at all, but that should have a full size grip, or at least close to it, and hold 16 in the mag...
    I was sort of trolling.

Yea the XD 4" is a full size grip, so the mags are all full size.

Another SA guy here. I would highly suggest the Xdm's over the Xd though. Didn't much care for the Xd. That is all.

Jasmine shot a buddies XD40 and I remember her not liking it because it was hard for her to pull the slide back and lock it.

I bought one of the first XDs to hit the market. Just never really liked it. I hear they've gotten better though. I have several brands of striker fired polymers (Caracal, FNS-9, SR9c, PPQ etc..)and I like a lot of them, but I carry a Glock. My latest is the Steyr M9-A1.So far I've run 600 rounds through it with no issues and I'm finally getting used to the sights.Sweet trigger and ergo's.

You should try a Ruger SR9c ( not SR9 ) before you decide. Great gun for the price. Good Trigger and ergonomics and a good size.

Yea the recoil spring is a double spring assembly, unlike the M&P which is just a single spring.

My old mk25 was a lot easier to rack than any other gun I've had. My gen2 glock is pretty easy though, think it has to do with the single rate recoil spring

This is why my wife chose her G23. It was the easiest for her to manipulate the slide.
