Nope, I found a lawyer that was semi-local and specialized in NFA items and trusts, handled it all via phone and Email.

Really simple process, the toughest part for me was choosing the beneficiary.

The next pistol I buy will be a revolver. Maybe two of them. One for the truck and one for the wife.

Avoid them like the plague. Something about being in close proximity with a bunch of retards who know nothing of gun safety all with firearms and live ammo learning to do the most mundane of tasks doesn't sit well with me. I choose life.

Shrug. I have a Ruger GP100 in .357 that I use as a bedstand gun during the winter. Around here people wear thick, heavy coats during the winter, and the .357 gives me the secure feeling of knowing that no matter what an intruder's wearing that I can still drop them (as long as I do my part).

Be careful, local firearm forum I'm on a lot of people were complaining the PSA BCGs were out of spec.

    Hey all,
New to the gun world here. I live in Houston, and recently had some theft from my home, while i was sleeping. I left the garage door open (stupid and costly lesson) and some lawn tools and power tools were taken within 10 minutes that two men were rummaging through my stuff.

I have a camera system, made a police report and let HOA know so others can be on the look out for what seems to be happening often in and around Houston.

What scares me is that they were essentially in my home (attached garage) and about 20 feet from my 2 year old sons room.

My FIL is a retired police officer and has a .22 pistol he'd like to give me, along with some training so i have at least something to have if there was an intruder. I went to a local gun store and found that they only had 4 boxes of .22 long ammo, compared to coutless boxes of larger caliber. Is it a demand issue and people are hoarding or something else?

Any issues i should look out for or suggestions upon getting a .22 pistol?

.22 long rifle is scarce in most places.

I think what Ryan is saying is in a gun fight the one with superior fire capacity wins. If you fire off 5-6 rounds and reload while the other guy has 10-17 rounds he's going to gain superior firepower over you and pin you down. You don't want to give the guy any chance to advance on you. Not every cc situation will end the same way.

So while I'm currently jobless when I'm not searching for jobs I'm looking at the parts I need to finish my 6.8 upper.
I've decided on a YHM FF rail
and a Nikon Monarch scope, my problem is I don't know what magnification to go with.
My hunting will be in the woods, but the property we will be getting will have shots as long as 200 yards. My current deer rifle is a marlin 30-30 with a nikon prostaff 3-9x40.

My top 2 choices are 2.5-10x50 or 3.5-14x50, both with the BDC reticle.

    Thoughts?
For up close encounters or pig defense I was thinking canted Irons.

    I can't help it.

Installed my magpul parts on my beat up 500. Was a police gun, so it got rattles and used and trained with back then. Then my dad bought it, and now it's mine. Had a ghetto sling, a loose side saddle, and a spec ops tactical stock. Now It's nice. However I'd like to get it refinished and take it to a gunsmith and have them replace anything that needs replacing and. Make it nice and smooth again. It malfunctioned twice today.

Anyway here it is today. Went shooting and returned and decided to try on new parts. I'm gonna get a 590 special purpose and put the magpul stock and forend on the 590.

    Aaaaand self explanatory. From today
