That's what I was looking at. I don't know if I want to get the field grade or spend the extra $100 and get the service grade.

CMP is a great way to get a nice useable Garand.
1911 is one of those deals where you get what you pay for pretty much.
R.I. are an entry level and may (will ) need some work if you want it for personal protection reliability.
If you get one get quality mags I like wilson and run a bunch of rounds through it to make sure it will function with social PP hollow points.
That is where many need extra work to improve reliability.
Best of luck be safe and have fun!

I was close to getting one but ended up getting a Remington Versa Max Tactical instead and I fucking love that thing. My friend has a M4 and side by side the Versa max is much softer shooting. Plus it comes pretty decked out for 500 less than the M4.

very nice, I try to support local shops as much as I can. I will buy from a local shop at a higher price than box stores if I can...except when the LGS jacks prices so high because of panic buying. I have 2 stores near me, one of them is slightly rude, and don't seem to be as knowledgeable, every time I go in there they seem more interested in talking to co-workers than to their customers. I shop there only when I can find ammo there (aka: curse the .22 shortage). the other shop, I can go in talk for an hour or so with the employees (if they aren't busy) and just enjoy being in the store. I usually try to buy at least something small there when i do that (usually a box of 50 22 or 17 hmr).

the best LGS is the one that has fair prices and will converse with their customers over anything from politics to the weather. If I can hang out and talk with employees for a bit I am much more likely to by from them

    anyone else this way?

that thing looks fun...I love shooting skeet with tactical shot guns....especially when you are shooting turkey loads and you let someone else try (who you met at the range) and they think you are using target loads

we shoot skeet with everything from a bolt action 20 gauge with a shorter barrel (no idea on how long) to a pump 500 with an 18 inch barrel to a berretta urika that I can hit skeet from a good ways off.

We have no problem breaking skeet with any of the guns...I've shot trap with most of them too and still have no problem.
