That's the plan! The good news is Lowes is going to refund the delivery charge, and arrange for it to be brought inside.. that alone is probably worth the wait.

Apparently my new expected in store date is now the 22nd. 18 days later than planned, still excited though! Waiting to see if they will honor their promise of free move to inside the house. :)

are you having it delivered or picking up yourself? I was planning on renting a trailer and appliance dolly from uhual for about $25. Hoping a couple buddies and I can handle it.

If they will bring it in your house, and put it where you want then it's worth it. Trust me. :D

thats how i felt too. I think with a trailer its gonna be easier to load in and out than the back of the taco. I figured this way I can lay it down too since I have about a 30 minute drive

Definitely worth it!! 800lbs of safe is not easy to move. Been there done that..... and ended up paying someone to move it anyway!

Depends on where you plan to put it. How much does it weigh? My Superior weighed 700lbs and it took 6 of us to get it into the basment safely.

Next time, if I ever buy a safe again I'm going to finish my garage and put it in there.

The safe is 660 lbs. My buddy has that big dolly that climbs stairs and all that. My house is only 7 miles from where i bought it so i thought 75-125 was a bit steep. And i dont have any steps to climb like he does at his place so i hope it wont be too bad.

Yea. We have a dealer/warehouse here in Sacramento.

They have one from a fire and it was the only thing left standing.

Alright, so the safe is in!

Good experience in the end, even with the almost 3 week delay in delivery. I ordered Jan 5th, and received the safe yesterday.

Lowes was alright through the process, even though at times I felt like I knew more of what was going on than they did, but they did honor their promise of refunding me the shipping costs due to the delay so that was a plus. I just brought the receipt and they gave me cash back with no questions asked.

The way they ship things like safes is they outsource to a third party company who will deliver. The company is only supposed to deliver curbside, so unless they get word from Lowes that it is to be brought inside they won't.

Lowes noted in my "file" that it was to be brought inside, but that word didn't get to the delivery guys. They were nice enough to give it a shot, and did a phenomenal job. They were extremely careful and put it exactly where we wanted it. Big tip for them! Two guys and a dolly, pretty impressive considering the size of this thing (way bigger in person than in pictures).

It also did not arrive on a pallet like I anticipated, just a heads up. Made it easier I guess, but was prepared to have to take it off the pallet.

I did get some tap lights, Sylvania makes some small LED ones that were like 6 bucks a pop. Got some velcro and was good to go. The entire interior is velcro ready so you can stick them wherever you want.

Outside of that just moving all my stuff into it!

This is what I put in my safe. These put off a lot of light and are linkable (daisy chain). I used a long regular two wire flat extension cord, cut the female end off, ran it through the hole in the back of my safe. I then used a metal 2x4 utility box, a receptacle, cover, and knock-out plastic grommet (to protect the wire entering the box), along with Industrial Velcros to mount the light and receptacle box in my safe. I did add another on/off in-line switch so it would be higher up. They offer different lengths of these lights. The receptacle powers my lights and dehumidifier (Moisture King).
