Help choose a .22 pistol.

Hey guys, Already have *** and ***-looking for a .22 pistol. Ammo is cheap and want to have a smaller backup-any recommendations-and if so-do you recommend a site and or distributor--anyone have an extra they would not mind getting rid of?
Have seen the Baretta(s)--anyone have one and recommend it?

I like my Ruger SR-22. It shoots nice, seems to take any ammo I put through it and was pretty inexpensive (around $300).

A .22 as a backup? What kind of back up?

For a .22 that fun to shoot, really customizable, accurate, and reliable; I'm a big fan of the browning buckmark.

Ruger's are awesome .22's, I have a colt woodsman that's a sweet little plinker too

if I ever have more money laying around, I'm gonna pick up a beretta model 87 target cheetah...

One of my favorite 22's is the Walther P22. Great shooting little pistol, decent sized frame, relatively inexpensive.

I have a Ruger Mark II that I absolutely love. They're cheap when you find them, shoot anything you put in them, and very reliable and accurate. Great gun!

I second the Walther P22. Best looking gun of the bunch, you can get them for under $300 in most places. If you do look into one, they do NOT like Winchester rounds. But then again a lot of guns don't, haha.

Third this one. My wife has the Walther and loves it. It's not finicky at all about ammo like the similar Sig mosquito. Can't say we've ever put Winchester through it tho. The laser sight that you can get with it makes a nice clean addition as well

Ruger MK III is what I shoot and love it. I wouldn't recommend a slab barrel though, which is what I have because of the weight, i'd recommend a barrel that is not the long 6 and 7/8 in barrel.

I am in bristol, TN this weekend, (visiting parents). I have my Ruger MKIII with me, and seeing that you are in East TN I would be willing to meet up with you tomorrow (2-10-2013).

message me or email me at platham@vt.edu if you are interested

I have also shot a buckmark, they are nice too. If I had to do it again, I would still pick the MK III, but it would be a very hard choice.

I love 22's, I have 5. Ruger Mark II, Mark III, Browning Buckmark, Sig Sauer Trailside and a Ruger single six. Love them all.

BUT, where are you getting ammo? I can only find expensive ($20 per 50) target stuff and 22 short.
