Got a few of my upgrades today. Also was allows to buy 8 boxes of 5.56 at big 5, last time I went they would only allow 5 boxes per person. Only 4 more days till I get to pick up my gun. aguge8uh_739ef4ce6e4b64f4eb48096fa4ae4c29cc90f9d0.jpg

I have this on my .22. It does ok, but look it over good when it comes in and don't hesitate to exchange it. There have been many QC issues with it. Cross hairs out of line with the turrets and such.

    RevAdam - For the record:

Upgrade = Improvement, per Webster's dictionary.

Thus, (1) a rail system would be an upgrade / improvement over a stock non-rail forend, (2) an optic would be an upgrade / improvement over iron sights or no sights at all, and (3) a bi-pod improves the stability of a rifle when shooting prone and or resting the rifle on another surface conducive to positioning a bi-pod.

So, he was originally correct when he stated he received his "upgrades".

    Have a good day.

    - Mark

For the Record: Adding crap that is out of spec, poor quality, and can fail under heavy use is not improving anything.

You should always plan for the worst. But if your budget doesn't allow:

There are inexpensive good quality optics on the market. UTG isn't one of them.

For just a few dollars more, you could have gotten a nice Nikon.

As far as that rail, I hope you're not leaving the optic on it. Drop in handguards aren't the best thing in the world to mount optics to. Cheap rails are also made quick with sketch QC, so what you have may or may not be anywhere near the 1913 spec.

For just a few dollars more, you could have bought a MOE foreend that is actually comfortable to hold, and the add on rails if you still want to make your rifle into a Christmas tree.

The bipod, if one of the better copies, can be almost as good as the Harris. If it's one of the crappy copies, won't ever fit correctly.

If you have one of the latter, and you buy another replacement, you'll be at the cost if you bought the Harris in the first place.

I have cheap stuff on my .22 AR, but any rifle that a failure could cause you a bad day shouldn't be purchased with ultimate cheap in mind. A few dollars can really change everything from having a good range day and not dicking around with a floating scope; or who walks away from a defense situation.

Oh yea, you're gonna need different rings or a riser to mount that thing to your AR when you get it together....

different rings gor the rail? the scope fits fine...im putting it on the gun not the rail. bipods are strong and seem legit. overall i like it and for now it will work.

The objective will most likely interfere with that quad rail when you mount the scope on the receiver.

    Devin,

If you have a fixed front sight base, you're going to need to elevate the optic (taller rings) or you will be staring at the base of the front sight base through the optic.

soo your saying that the optic wil sit too low and be touching the quad rail, correct?

thats what i figured. makes sense now. im not sure if it will interfere or not. hopping it wont, but usually if it can go wrong it does. no worries, its an easy fix.

You won't see the front sight at higher magnification, but it will most likely rub the quad rail. It looks like it would from that photo anyways.

The scope needs to be a little higher on the AR platform anyways to give proper cheek weld on the stock.
