*EDIT* - Figured it out...I glossed over the transition of them talking exclusively about the buffer tube covers as opposed to the whole pictured assembly (cover and grip stock).

"BATFE has examined the buffer tube cover (with and without cheek rise) and determined that it IS NOT a buttstock therefore it DOES NOT make an AR pistol an SBR. The letter is now posted on our new website. CLICK HERE TO GO TO OUR FRS-15 INFO PAGE THEN CLICK ON "LETTER FROM BATFE""

That is for the buffer tube cover but not for the stock growing out of the pistol grip. Maybe it is including that but I promise you it won't be for long. Thompson Contenders with weird stocks are not exempt from SBR laws so I can imagine these aren't as well. They may all be exempt from the NY safe act though. Even mauser broom handle pistols with the butt stock holster made in the last 100 years aren't exempt from SBR status.

ETA reading it it only covers the buffer tube cover.

So I Found new Seekins lower and who knows a day later found the upper in stock.
    A little about the build....
    Seekins Lower
    Seekins upper
    Geissele S3G trigger
    Battle Comp Bad safety
    Keis take down pins
    MI SS full float tube
    Magpul grips, stock, mags
    DD BCG
    BCM Gunfighter Mod 4
    Stoner SS 5R 300 Blackout 16" barrel
    Ziess Scope
That about covers it, I really like the Seekins lowers, the upper is also go but not sure there is a true value to it for normal use. Maybe a little stronger and nicer finish and looks.

Speaking of ACOGs, what are the thoughts (especially you, sleeper) on an RCO/RMR combo on a 10.5" upper? My original plan was an eotech and possibly, but I'm extremely fond of the RCO from my days in the grunts.

Offset or Piggy back? My latest SBR build has my ACOG on it and I have to say, after using this set up a bunch I think if you can stay trained up on an ACOG its the best all around optic. On my 11.5 the BDC is still relatively close enough at 300 yards. I am sure ifI had to stretch it another 100-200 yards it would be close enough to piss someone off. Here it is in all its latest glory. I swapped the stock.

Eye relief is the only thing keeping me from an ACOG (oh, and the price tag). I have to settle for a heavier 1-4x PST or the EOTech. The EOTech has been winning lately, especially since I put a 2.5-10x PST on my 16" upper. ACOGs are awesome.

I just switched from my eotech to my acog, it's all about training and getting used to the acog, both eyes open it is just as fast as the eotech and then you can close an eye and have the BDC for your more long range shots, I love it and think it's well worth the money

My buddy chuck uses his piggy back and he has a choice between offset and piggy back. He is active SF. If it works for him it should be good to go.He did say its weird at first. I think if you have the right reticle for your ACOG though I think you can forgo the RMR. I have the horseshoe reticle in green.

    Here is chucks set up
    IMG_0254_20916905f8ac20a173756b3b39b085b7ca57331d.jpg
Yep and if you go both eyes open you can actually back off of the scope a bit because all you are really needing in view is the reticle. Like I said I have the green horseshoe and it works pretty well if you train with it.

I got to go shooting this afternoon, put about 40 rounds through it, bolt catch worked great, but I forgot to work the bolt a bunch so it was like having a bolt action rifle with a magazine, got sighted in a little and took a little bit of gopro video, I should have it up next week.

I might be able to shoot it again this weekend (or Thursday) but I'm not sure, she's all clean and ready to go.

It would be the issue RCO reticle. I don't think I could not get the RMR though. I was in a fight that was <10 meters and I never even looked through my acog, just over it right were an RMR would have been if we had them.

I've looked at the elcans too, but it would be hard to abandon the RCO.
