    Google the XS Sights CSAT.

Post and ring is more accurate than a partridge sight. less guess on elevation.

So I got to shoot a .50 bmg Barrett yesterday, then found out that there are single shot (some sude mag fed too) AR uppers in .50bmg, does anyone have one?

Thanks rev and whatthepho. Seems weird that they would be more accurate, you kind of have to guess where the middle of the ring is. I think I'll switch over to one of the two you guys posted

I've been hearing rumors that Glock is going to unveil an ar in pistol calibers this year at shot show. Has anyone heard anything else?

I wish I did! Only problem though is the backstop part. You are responsible for that bullet until it stops and where it stops. Did you hear the one about the lady who got shot in the arm with a 50 BMG while at the NASCAR track in Ft. Worth, TX? He was 4, read FOUR miles away, aimed his 50 BMG at a 45 degree angle East and let one off. It traveled 4 miles and the lady was in the bed of an RV parked inside the track at the NASCAR track. It came down and went through the RV and through her arm! He confessed as they would have pulled yellow forms to see "who" in that direction owns a 50 BMG. No criminal charges since he owned up to it but he had to make good her medical expenses and then some out of his own pocket. A 50 BMG will zip through a small stand of trees so don't count on a treeline stopping it. Just some thoughts for you to think on. Yes it would be cool to have one but I guarantee you your name will be on a special list from now on.

Technically, you should be able to hit a man-sized target out to 600 yards with AR15 irons. Couple different things to try with your factory sights: extend your stock to max length and sight through the small aperture. Also, you can either purchase a smaller front sight pin or use a lathe and turn your own down for free. I always turn mine down

With some practice, your AR sights will serve you very well as long as your eyesight is up to the task.

they make AR uppers in .50 BMG, no real records like buying a gun except for a receipt from ordering it, especially if you get a gun shop to order and pay cash. all the ranges that I shoot at have good backstops on them. watched the guy that let me shoot his peg a golf ball at about 120 yards with it (close range lol), no more golfball.

$390 for a lower that takes Glock mags, then $690 for an upper

I think I'd rather stick with my Glock mag fed Keltec Sub2K that cost me a whopping $400

So what are some of your opinions on DMPS rifles? I am toying with the thought of getting stripped parts and building a rifle but not sure how much that would cost in the long run. May be cheaper to get an already built platform. I am looking at a DMPS from a member here.

Well with the ghost ring you kind of have to guess where the middle of the ring is. It seems not very accurate. Maybe I will just practice with it. I do have an adjustable stock but I feel like I may need to get an even longer one though. Although I am used to shotguns and rifles, it could be a different feeling with AR's

My .02, build one, you learn a lot about the way your gun works, and you control the quality that goes in it.

I built mine and i'm glad i did, and i plan on building several more.
