Doesn't have to be bungee, thought it would be more comfortable but definatley want it to hang in position.

FWIW My viking 2 point keeps the rifle right where I need it to easily swing up and into where my shoulder pocket is supposed to be...even with body armor and gear on

it's super easy to adjust as needed

is this the one you recommend?

    http://www.vikingtactics.com/product-p/vtac-mk1.htm

I'm liking the ease of use. granted, this will be for just trudging through the brush and desert.

basically the same design, just different company?

would you say the padded version is beneficial? just more comfortable but probably adds slight bulk.

yeah same basic design...no noticeable differences to me in usage. Padded def makes a difference when trekking thru the woods carrying a rifle for long periods of time, but is not necessary if you don't plan on using the sling to support the rifle for hours on end

I'm sure there are other slings out there that work fine and do the job for cheaper, and many people prefer the single points, but I don't like rifles slinging around and smashing into my balls when I am moving and running around...plus these keep the rifle nice and secure right where I want them

got ya. yeah this will be used for when I'm varmint hunting, Coyote, Javelina, etc.. I was out a couple months ago and was in some pretty thick brush, and though a sling would be nice right about now.

this is why im thinking 2 point as well. lol

so.. any 2 point will really do what im wanting it seems. atleast that narrows it down and i can start looking and comparing prices.

now.. mounts and mounting points... aaaaand go. lol

My understanding is Alberta is a pretty "conservative" province.

I'm a big fan of the Magpul MS3 slings. They can be quickly converted from a 2-point to a 1-point sling, and easily adjust the length. It's the best of both worlds. I have one on a personal rifle and my duty rifle.

Good point, probably go with a Magpul MS4 I think it was, because it can be both single point and double to see which ones works for me.

I keep a basic military two point sling with quick release pins. I think unless you use it as a service weapon. Single points are just uncomfortable

Same here except I bought all the tools I'd need. I have a punch set, upper action block and an AR15 tool for the barrel and hand guard. I'll still need a gunsmith to pin the compensator but I like the idea of being able to work on my own stuff using my own tools.

I ditched my MS3 for the Vtac sling. I have a Tri-Glide on mine. allows me to go from 2 to 1 using the QD on my sling.

Never understood the appeal of the Magpul slings. Slick nylon & thin material. VTAC is great. I prefer Blue Force Gear.
