    i get it...

    I agree with you, thats what I will be doing as well.. but, I've been in scenarios where a little more control, comfort, whatever you want to call it, is needed, and a 2 point seems to give that.

    Walking=hiking or hiking=walking :notsure:

    Either way, I agree, when I am hunkered down, its unslung. Actually, it is sitting there doing nothing because I am looking through binocs. But, I think we all get the picture on the subject.

    thats what some of my terrain will consist of. high desert into pines and elevation changes.

    actually, the reason I started asking was because last time we were on a hunt, I ended up having to trudge through some thick brush, including bushes/trees with thorns that would constantly grab our clothes, and hike over rock shelves and into ravines.. while using Binocs.. thats when i thought to myself.. ya know.. a sling would be nice about now.. lol

    Gotcha, like backpacks and stuff, down a trail, eating granola and growing a beard and shit.

    Ha, thats how I always thought of it until my recent mountain goat scout. I was "hiking" down some of the same trails as campers, backpackers, etc to get to where I needed to go. The only exception to me was I had on full camo, camo backpack, and binoculars (sans gun because I was scouting). After getting to those goats and the extreme terrain I had to go through to get there? Its all hiking to me.

    You should have seen some of the mean ass looks I got on that scout btw. They be haters out there.

    I still have yet to get some good pics of my new AR, but I have a quick shot of it in my freshly shelved locker!

    Any reason I can't function test an AR without a forearm and muzzle device (bare threads)?
    I want to put a few rounds through my 6.8 and see if it was my gas block screwing up my 223's reliability.

    Nope, no reason at all. After a few rounds that barrel will get real warm to the touch though, best use an oven mitt for the handguard. Try not to bump the gas tube too.

    looking for a simple buttstock for the ar platform. very simple.. even just a little pad that connects to the end of the buffer tube
