It's not mine, I was just looking up the KAK can and saw this, remembered that Tiger said he wanted to do something like it IIRC.

Alot of states don't allow you to hunt with more than 5 rounds in your gun at any one time, so the teeny 5 rnd mags are a necessity. I prefer to get the 10 rnd mags with a rivet in them allowing only 5 rnds to be put in. Gives you something to grab since a true 5 rnd mag pretty much sits flush with the bottom of the mag well and you can't get any fingers on it.

That looks like 2 or 3 smidgens to me too

But basically yes, maybe a little closer to the end of the rail but close enough

Ks got rid of magazine limits! But when hunting it shouldnt take that many anyways. Almost anything is legal to hunt with now.

These are hunting rifles so 10 and 15 round mags. Don't need any larger. I have the 6.8 25 rd mags and 30rd Six8 PMAGs for my LWRC receiver set, but only worth anything when hunting pigs. No use in deer, just cumbersome and in the way.

It's not AAC these are the YHM QD and so far they are great.

Ah, I have looked into the YHM before, looked solid too.

Very true about the not needing extra for deer hunting, I was not thinking of hunting applications for whatever reasons. I think it was the suppressor. Can you use that while hunting deer in your state?

Even in "Live Free Or Die" NH you cannot even have a suppressor on you while out hunting. Hopefully they change that, I would like to hunt with a suppressor on my .30 cals.

What's up guys? Proud new owner of an AR here. This being my first one, I have kind of a dumb question. I'm looking to hunt Coyote and hogs with it at around 300 yards. What would be a decent optic setup to go with? I don't really want to scope it, and lose any close-range usage. Here's a quick pic:

If your going to hunt hogs and coyotes I would put on a variable range scope. Precision is what matters for that. You could always go the route of getting a red dot and a magnifier though. But then its all Kentucky windage since there is no reticle with mil marks or zeroing knobs.

Here is mine and I hunt hogs and coyotes with it. Hogs in the south and Coyotes here.

There are more photos a couple 3 pages back too.

I have a lot of experience shooting M4A1 and M4A3, and some M16's with iron sites, ACOG's, and a couple diff red dots, and a few scoped.
I would say a low power (3 or 4) would be best for what you're looking for. You will be able to make more precise shots at 300m and not lose much up close. An ACOG or other powered optic can be used with both eyes open for close shots. It only takes a little bit of practice to get used to shooting both eyes open.

If you really want to avoid a powered optic a nice red dot like an aimpoint T-1/H1 would work great. The main thing with red dots is the smaller the dot you can use while not losing the dot the more precise your shots can be.
I prefer dots when shooting 200m or less. anything after 2 and the extra magnification is great.

It depends on the model. Since the mania passed you should be able to find less expensive ones though.

    $600'ish.

I work a ranch in Texas a lot so we can hunt suppressed there. I technically could in ca too because of my SOT and claim because I sell them to hunters out of state it's R&D but I won't risk that one lol.

    Yes

I don't want a longer rail...i acquired this pistol as a toy and I'd like to keep it super short. It's already pushing towards too long for what I want

And no...this is not so I can be super tacticool or claim it's a backpack gun etc etc because operator as fuck or whatever

It's a range toy. It will be used as such and only as such. Consequently I want it to LOOK a certain way so I'm happy every time I pull it out of the safe

It will eventually probably get painted...but will stay iron sights, and possibly get rid of the quad rail in favor of a smoother handguard...and def a new grip...but that's it...because it's a cheap toy...I've got the equivalent of about $500 in it so far
