Store your AR15 in your Tacoma

I don't know if anyone has posted anything like this, and I wouldn't know how to search for it. But I thought I'd share my trunk gun setup with you all. Tacoma 2nd Gen Double Cab.

All it takes is one easy hole drilled in the plastic to hold the muzzle. The buffer tube in front of the stock and the FSB I tied to the body hooks with velcro straps. Plenty of clearance for optic, wider stock, badger latch, etc. This one is a 14.5" barrel with a welded muzzle device to go 16.1" but I haven't tried it with a 16" barrel. Does not rattle or move around and there's plenty of room left for other things.

@NorthWoods - ahh because the compartment on the driver's side is smaller... not long enough to fit a carbine. Thanks!

Yeah it's pricy, but considering it doesn't run on batteries and it goes forever and its lifetime warrantied... totally worthwhile. I use Trijicon on everything.

LOL, caught that one eh? My P229 is my daily carry, and I carry a SW 640 for CHL. So answer: on me and at the ready.

I carried a P229R-DAK in the service, in .40. Just recently picked up the same gun in 9mm.

Ya I enjoy them too, if I had some cash to spend I would purchase one of those in a heart beat

BTW, I originally had designs on velcroing an 870 pistol grip 12 gauge to the ceiling... no one looks up there... ever. I did successfully attached my tomahawk there once, but it made me nervous. My Glock 19 fully loaded with 15 rounds velcros up there perfectly though. Glockstore.com has velcro concealment holster inserts for their concealment jacket that sticks to the felt ceiling material in the Tacoma. http://www.glockstore.com/concealmen...holster-pocket

Velcro isn't secure enough to leave a firearm in a truck, especially in plain sight.

Velcro worked fine for the G19, and I always holstered it when I left the truck.

Wouldn't leave it there if I was going into the store for groceries. Would be for long trips or the like. Besides, I'm not talking about velcro-ing the shotgun to the roof like a patch... more like affixing velcro straps to the ceiling to flat bar behind the felt. The Glock holds just fine with just the velcro holster I linked to.

You could have just been talking about whether or not the velcro was strong enough to "securely" hold the shotgun.
