I dont know if yall have seen the newest "Ghost Gun" proposal by Senator De Leon but I watched it and all it did was confuse me. He focuses on plastic guns through 3-d printing, but then goes on to explain that a metal lower is the "engine". Then he explains that a ghost gun is a gun without a serial number and uses a "high powered automatic rifle of sniper variety". Isn't that a metal gun?

So is a ghost gun a plastic gun or is it a gun without a serial number?

Would a serialized plastic gun be legal?

Sounds like he's mixing issues... I just watched his 'speech' and I don't think he has any clue what he really wants to accomplish.

He's trying to scare the public into believing these guns are all over the streets and over dramatizing that they are Para-military assault weapons. Most wont know what he's talking about but relate the type of weapon he is showing to extreme movies and using non factual points.

The sad thing is this wont keep the bad guys from getting weapons or doing bad things.

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
First thing to remember - DeLeon does not have a functional grasp of the terminology or technology (or of firearms in general).

By his math, a 'ghost gun', at least, is capable of a 3600 round-per-minute sustained rate of fire.

By his intent, a 'ghost gun' is going to be any firearm that is not listed in the California Automated Firearms System (AFS) or its successor. They've had pistols in there, solidly, since 1991. They just got rifles started going in there 1/1/14. Now he wants to capture anything that is home-built - 80% lowers (of any type), 3D printed stuff, a shovel bend and assembled into a functional AK, etc.

By his efforts, he'll get compliance (mostly) for those who don't want to operate outside the law, and zero compliance for his alleged-intended targets, criminals. It's a farce, and we all know it.

Sadly, CA politics is dominated by idiots, in turn elected by idiots. And frankly the idiots in California far outnumber the non-idiots.

That was close. I thought some of my guns in Call of Duty Ghost were being banned.

    Continue toward the lock.
