Ok cool, so without the blue label id but with a military id it's still the same savings. I'll just have to ask them about the G42 cause they haven't had it in stock yet but places I've seen online are selling them for about $580

Just checked out the G42 at a store that finally got one in. It's $340 with mil discount. I liked it...a lot! I think that's what I'm gonna go with for conceal carry. Compared it with the S&W bodyguard and the wife liked the S&W better. It fit her hands better and she liked the safety since it'll be in her purse. So, looks like we'll be getting one of each!

I have found the G26 to be a very good shooting gun. I also have the10 and 17 round mags. But seriously, who is going to shoot 17 times ????????

Exactly! I feel that if you need to shoot that many rounds you are either a horrible shot or in a situation that you have no business being in, lol

Why would I need so much ammo for a conceal carry? And to me, a gun with a 17 round mag isn't much of a conceal carry. What's the point in conceal carrying if it's easily spotted?

I carry a G26 with one 10 round mag, but I have 33 round mags stashed one in each car, nightstand etc.. If Glock brings a single stack nine I'll get one.

I carry a 27 normally w a 15rd spare. This 42 is just to see how it runs and how concealable it is. But why not carry as much ammo as you are comfy carrying.... I am all for it, its your life be happy and get home safe.

I held a shield...wasn't bad but didn't feel like an extension of my arm like my Glocks do

You have thick hands? My fingers are long and skinny. Not being able to get my pinky on the grip was always annoying, and the grip itself felt slippery. It was a Gen 2.5.

Use the flush-fitting mag in the gun, and use a 15 or 17 round mag as the extra. Slides don't print...it's always the grip. Always.

Yeah, I never bought extras for it. Still a great gun which I had for 18 years, but time to let it go. Like you said, it never felt like an extension of my arm, though, and the Shield already does. We'll see at the range when I finally get it from the shop.

I pocket carry mine so I like the short grip. It can become slippery feeling(even with the Gen 4 texture) without the pinky extension though so I keep grip tape on it. Shooting without the pinky finger doesn't bother me.
