The clacking of a pump shotgun is universal for "Hey, what are you doing there?" Go for that.

It'll solve most problems without having to fire a single shot.

not exactly.. a shotgun is truly the best HOME defense weapon you can have... let me ask you this. when woken up in the middle of a good sleep by an intruder that is RUNNING through the house in low light conditions just how accurate do you think your gonna be with a pistol??? much easier to sling a nice spray of buckshot in the right direction plus less likely to penetrate through walls into other occupied rooms......

you got that right! mine always stays "combat" loaded... ready to rack one in!!

however the pistol stays with one in the chamber ready for action.

hope you like it!! mines been an awesome pistol so far... its probably had several thousand rounds put through it, dropped in the mud and concrete... its always preformed flawlessly!

and actually i have loaned what is probably my favorite home defense weapon to my mom.. its a Mossberg 500 in a 410 with an 18" barrel and pistol grip... now thats on heck of a home tool! easy to maneuver and will knock anybodys butt down in a heartbeat!!

Hahah. Oh I know. I just use it for fun. I need to get myself a good long range scope. Anything you could recommend that I might not know about?

I dont know alot about optics. I use an Nikon 18x for out to 1000', but thats about the limit of my shooting. Im happy with it, and it didnt cost an arm and a leg like the Swarovski scopes.
