After the hunt the animals are laid out in a certain order by precedence. Then the horn players come out And play a blast for each type of animal killed. All the hunters who got a kill are honored with a shooting branch(spruce). You place it in your hat and all the jaegers know you got a kill. Then it is off to the gasthaus for beer and the hunters who got a kill usually get beer bought for them.

Lots of tradition based hunting over here.

Awesome experience, Ryan. I'm working on my license here in Japan, but it is EXTREMELY difficult. There are only two non Japanese registered hunters on the mainland that I know of. Good on you for doing it. I'd love to get stationed there next and get after some stags. I've read about the German traditions and the work that goes into hunting there, as far as management and habitat maintenance goes. It's always been interesting to me. Thanks for sharing your pics, and keep em coming!!

Waidmannsdanke, it has been a hell of experience iin Germany. Yeh the Rehm kitz was taken on the Austrian border. The fox dialed right in when he heard the shot and I got him too. I have not got the opportunity at a stag, so I hope he year is my year. I am located in Grafenwoehr in Bayern near Regensburg.

That's awesome your getting you Japanese hunting license. When you get to Germany there will be many who say it is to hard and too expensive. Don't believe the hype. Great opportunities you just have to do your part. I miss now hunting. I am considering going over the Czech and taking my bow to take downs stag.

This bull was killed pretty close to me and green scored 431''

Yep 100% albino deer. You can tell in the eyes and feet.
A lot will have dark eyes and dark feet, this on it pink.

No sure about TN, most places don't care but there are a few that want to protect them for some unknow reason.

They eat the same. In NC a deer is a Deer, if it is brown you can put it on the ground and in this case it just has to be listed as DEER.
We can kill big, small, short a fat...

    They are all good eating.
