I luv the Ruger SR9c 9mm to carry. If you want a .40 get the Ruger SR40c these are both good guns.

9mm ammo is much cheaper though and I have plenty of faith in 9mm Defense ammo to do the job.

    Other good carry guns:

    Smith & Wesson M&P9c
    Bersa Thunder Pro UC 9mm
    Bersa BP9cc 9mm

as a fellow 10mm and G29 owner i would NOT recomend this as your first pistol, i'm assuming you dont reload because well it's your first pistol, if you dont reload dont buy a 10mm you wont be able to afford to shoot it

get a G26 and work your way up

For protection, lcp hands down. throw it in your pocket and go, no holster and very convenient. Feels like a cell in the pocket and a 4" grouping at 12 yards with a laserlyte is plenty accurate
