AR madness

Oh and I custom painted my long rifle too, but I didn't know what I was doing and used crayon to draw the design...

 

This thread is quickly coming to the point where people start measuring their junk to prove how manly they are.

 

We already did that...

...but if you want to whip yours out and take a measurement feel free. But I'm just going to tell you, it will be disappointing compared to the competition

There is no way in hell I'm doing someone else rifle, this thing took me 7 days and probably 30 hours to do.

I guess the next time I do it, I will know a little more about the process.

Just to give you an idea about the design. It's 4 colors of DuraCoat and every inch of the design was custom cut and applied, then I hit it with a light flat coat to knock some of the shine off it. It was fun and I learned a lot about the process, but it's going to be some time before I do it again.

I tried to do a camo job on my 10/22 but I ended up just painting it a sandstone color. Now im bored with that and I wana get a bull barrel and a thumb hole stock for it

 

I have no reason to brag about my massive 1 incher

I suppose thats one of the qualifications to owning an AR

It's the TA31f-g g for the green chevron reticle 4 x 32.

I love it, highly recommended.

 

Dang man, if I only had the cash...

 

yeah, it took me a while to get the cash together for that, but it is well worth it. Very clear optic, not bad on weight, and very well built.

I just didn't want to throw a holographic sight on a rifle that can shoot 400+ yards (not that I have yet) accurately. I am working on a 20in bull barrel AR that i will prob put a 3x9 scope on, prob a Leupold.

when you fire your long guns, do you guys shoot with your weak side facing the target or do you square up to it?

I find that when I'm shooting my AR I square up, and my other bolt action rifle I shoot with my weak side facing the target if I'm standing.

With the AR I don't square up as much as I do with a handgun but pretty close

 

Same here. With a handgun I am perfectly square, but with the AR I am at about 20 degrees to the weak side.

 

It's OK to shoot an AR like a regular rifle. Shooting squared up with an AR is more for using body armor. I admit I shoot like that but it's mostly because I was taught by a SWAT member. In real life, and I didn't have body armor, I'd want to thin my profile as much as I could. But I still hunch my shoulders around the rifle as much as possible and keep my elbows in. Just my $.02
