Glock 23 for $250?

Hey all,

A friend of a friend is looking to sell his glock 23 for $250 and I'm debating pickin it up. The gun maybe has 100 rounds though it, older model without the rail. Also tossing in 300 rounds of fmj. No real use for the 40 but figure it cant hurt to have another gun for the range and possibly throw a 22 conversion on. Thoughts?

looks like we'll be taking care of the transfer monday, he had a guy lined up for $350 but when he found it didnt have the rail he wasnt interested. Never really been interested in the glock, but i figure it cant hurt to try new things. any one using a 23 for ccw? or give the .357 sig barrel a try?

I had a 23 for a while. Fine pistol. Never fired the 357 Sig though. I hear its a little "Snappy".

haha...good word. The .357s got some kick. In the order of things, the recoil will fall between a .40 and a .45.

The 23 has a 4.5" barrel, so it eats up some of the impact.

Really nice round though, one of my favs

I had a Sig 226 with both 357 sig and 40 s&w barrels. 357 was a little snappier when you compare them side by side but otherwise you'd never notice the difference. I'd recommend sticking with the 40 because the ammo is far more readily available and cheaper. While I like the 357 sig cartridge, there's a decent chance it won't stand the test of time.

If you don't buy that gun for $250. I will.

was on the fence about pickin the gun up as i didnt think id have much use for it, but got to thinkin itll make a good platform for a 22 conversion, as well as add a 40 to the collection. gonna try to get the transfer done tomorrow, and may end up w/ a few other goodies while waitin on the nics. thanks for the thoughts all.

$250 is a great price for a 2nd gen. Glocks are unstoppable and yea the .22 kits are great for plincking and practice. If you reload I would hesitate, but if you're just putting .22s and factory ammo thru it, go for it.

Great gun and a good price. I use mine with a Galco holster for concealed carry and it works well for me. Pics in profile.

thanks for the pic, i usually carry a s&w mp9c or the lcp, but depending on how the 23 works out it may work its way into the rotation.

Why wouldn't you put reloads through it. I started shooting USPSA/IPSC with a Glock 22 and never had an issue withover 10000 round through it. Just jacketed or plated bullets and not lead.
Glock 23 was my first semi auto and fun and not as painfull as my Glock 27 to shoot.
I am a little spoiled with my custom STI's now however.
