Moultrie Trail Cam...

    So I bought a trail cam from Cabela's in August. It's worked fine until it started getting cold lately. Now, it seems that when temps are around or below freezing, it doesn't take any pictures. Has anyone else had that problem? If so, what did you do to fix it?

    I tried calling Moultrie today and waited on hold for 30 minutes and still never got to talk to anyone.

    Try different batteries.

    Shoulda mentioned that. I already have. I had Duracell in there, and it said they still had 80% charge, but I changed them anyway. This time I used Rayovac and they have 90% left. It's done it or the past 2 nights, and it's been at or below freezing the past 2 nights...

    Get rid of the Moultri and get a Cuddeback. I have 0 problems with my 2 Cuddebacks.

    You think the batteries are freezing up with the weather? It's 50* here now and I just went and checked it and it's working fine now. I assumed it was probbaly just the batteries freezing up but I haven't had anything like this happen before and was curious. What battery do you suggest?

    We use the silver and blue Energizer Lithium batteries in our cams... Works great in freezing temps.

    getting there....
    i'd almost guarantee you its the batteries. lithiums should work alot better with the cold temps.

    the cuddebacks are nice....but not everyone has "cuddeback" money. that being said....im saving up for a cuddeback for behind my house.:D
