Well IMO the Noveske's are the best made AR style rifle, but that is mainly because there stainless barrels are the best in the market.

Noveske's are top tier and they are known for outstanding barrels but LWRC's CHF barrels are just as coveted. I don't have a CHF barrel though; I have one of the first 20 M6A2s made and they didn't offer it then.

You obviously dont shoot suppressed. not even my LWRC stops the gas blowback from a can due to the hole in the receiver for the charging handle.

Cleaning. If you shoot a lot there is just not enough time to do it. Lube... DI burns it up. Pistons leave it there. That would be the why.

    x2

For that type of money you can purchase any AR platform lower and add a piston upper and be about half what a SCAR or ACR costs. But for the average guy the regular old gas system will be just fine. Ask yourself this, are you a high speed operator who needs all that, or a regular guy who will shoot it at the range, and maybe for home defense / BUG out gun?

I carry one every day and still use a regular gas system. Instead I chose to put my money into functional equipment such as an Eotech, a 3x magnifier, a reddi-mag, extra mags and training ammo.

Here you go. Don't get me wrong, the ar15 is a great gun, an ar with a pistion conversion is even better but I will stay with my SCAR. Again im someone that owns and shoots both so I think I can talk. I got my SCAR at a great price, I wouldnt have paid 3k for it. The SCAR is just a better gun, a better system. Ether one you go with will be fine for what you want it for but again if you have the money, go for the scar you wont regret it. Alot of people tell
u no why spend that much and this and that to talk bad about it and defend there ar, but havent even owned a SCAR. About the ACR, I could have grabbed it for $1900 but decided to spend $300 more for the SCAR. My buddy bought the ACR, so when I shoot it many times I will talk. By the way, as big as the scar looks, its acually lighter than an AR.

I'm a big FN fan, as I think they are the only company really advancing firearms design and not revamping designs from 50 - 100 years ago. I have a PS90 and a FiveSeven, I love that round with Elite Ammo pills...not the weak factory stuff. I would love to have an F2000 as it handles great for cqb.

As far as the SCAR question if I had the expendible cash I'd own one. However for the average shooter purchasing his first tactical rifle, I think training ammo, spare mags, a decent case, and optics take a priority.

Got an ACR in the store last week... we were surprised that it uses standard AR barrels... so a quick swap of the 1/9 twist Bushwacker barrel for a good 1/7 twist CHF barrel would be a piece of cake. That said, prices should be falling soon and Bushmaster is already listing revised specs on their website. Anyone notice how fast SIG556 prices have been falling as well as the deals (like free SIG522 with purchase)? Every player is finding out late that the AR still rules the game.

OP you're asking which one is better? I always tell customers... "Why worry? Get one of each!" :)

I recently built my first AR and I love it. I spent quite a bit on it but I got all the parts that I wanted. As for the SCAR and the ACR I would love to have both. Just depends on what you want. I would honestly say just wait a while though. The prices will go down. I plan on getting one of these but it is going to be a while. Do the research and try to find one at a local shop to look at them. When I have the money I will probably get a ACR. I just like the look of them and the ease of use.

I have a few hundred rounds through the SCAR and handled the Masada prototype that became the ACR.

I had high hopes for the ACR, but the weight and price will keep me out of it. Well that, and the fact that I don't actually have any complaints with my ARs.
