New XDm .40!

I picked up a new SA XDm in 40 cal last week, fired 100 rounds through it yesterday and damn am I happy with the choice I made. This gun just feels right in my hand and for a first time handgun owner, its a breeze to operate. Wasn't really concerned with my aim, as I was just trying to get used to how the gun operated, and also I'm not that great of a shot yet. Plan on heading back out next weekend and doing another 100-150 rounds and trying to get better at trigger pull and my aim. Hope to see some of y'all out at the range, I'm always open for pointers!

Thanks!

I dont know if everyone already knows this or I was just dumb but I read over on xdtalk that after you take a shot, keep the trigger in the "pulled" position, then slowley let it back forward until you hear it "click" then your ready to fire again. That way you wont have to go through the entire range of motion that your trigger does.

I'm new to pistols and it definetly helped me out

Shot about 200 rounds through the xdm 3.8 in 9 and 40. Both feel and perform great. I be adding a xdm 3.8 .40 to the collection pretty soon here.

I just noticed that you're in SA. Did you happen to get your pistol from Nagels?

Thats the next gun I am buying... I am trying to sell a brand new Henry Big Boy 44 Mag... new and still in the box.

I would trade for an XDM .40 straight up... if not I will buy one when I find a buyer for the rifle.

Anyone want a Big Boy?

$650.00....

Greg

Works on rifes too. Trigger follow thru is an important step in firing the shot.

Yes this is called the trigger "reset" and it is very important in follow up shots. It is encompassed in the follow through which is one of the all important elements of good marksmanship.

This actually sparked an idea in my head.

EDIT: One, I just saw the above poster addressed this already. Two, I am going to start a new thread with this idea that just popped into my head so as not to jack this one. See below:

I have made up my mind and will pick up a XD 40 Service 4" on thursday. My next door neighbor is a gun shop with and indoor range, location, location, location!!! If my wife likes it I will get her a sub compact in the same caliber. It is so nice to walk next door and send a few down the tube, then just walk home and have a beer. A lot of my buddies still serving are trying to get the XD 40 swapped out with their service 9mm.
