    cool!
i'm on the fence about arrowing a bear. i dont like the meat that much..but they seem like a great hunt. i got to 40 yards of a bear, i came to full draw to see if he could detect my movement. nope..it would have been easy.

never did see a deer on that hunt.

mix it 50/50 with deer, elk or cow meat and make pepperoni it is awesome the steaks not so much.

arrow is next! well actually i already arrowed one at 20 yards back in September, it was pretty cool to be on ground level eye to eye with a bear at 20 yards and hammer him. it was kind of intense to but i am an adrenaline junkie so big buck, bulls, bears and cougars up close ad personal are cool!!!!!!!

That is a great looking bear. Since you've already taken one with a Bow(which takes lots of Skill) Now that you shot one where you had the complete advantage. How many more do you plan to Kill for the fun of it. I was happy to hear that you do use the meat and not just throw it away!

i find them to be a lot of fun to hunt and a challenge also. these bears move all the time they do not sit still and are very nerve. as for how many more i plan to kill i am not sure. i eat the meat so it is just one more food source for me and my family. Oregon is very over populated with bears and cougars right now so i will keep hunting them until i get tired of it or the population is in check. i also keep the skulls and have rugs made of the hide so i do not waste the animals. i try to be respectful to the animals i kill that includes eating and displaying them for there beauty

by the way oregon has so many bears in sw oregon you can kill 3 a year. i will say i have gotten to see things i thought i would only see in wild america!! i love watching cubs play they are funny animals.

i dont get this part..now that we have the covered wagon days waaay behind us..hunting is for fun. is say it is at least 80% fun.

i have eaten one bear that was delicious. we were so far from civilization, on a horse back hunting trip. food was running low, and that bear was like a banquet!! here is a pic.
