I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
So I just got my CC permit and hate pretty much every compact/sub compact i've shot so I was wondering, do you guys carry your full size in your truck and if so where do you keep it. I have a sig226 and would rather have that in the truck than anything else. If you got any ideas/pictures please post up to help me out. my only idea is under the seat as of now.

One of my friend's brother had his 22 underneath his seat.. another person had a AK27 in his car for a few weeks. I dont know why.
A guy at Project Zero has a HFC M190 (or something like it) in all his vehicles.

I use a wilderness safepacker and keep it in the center counsel unless I have a passenger that does not have a CCW and then it goes in the door pocket. The Glock 30 is pretty much a full size I think.

I keep a Maxpedition Fatboy bag with a full size gun in it. That way I can take the bag in the house at night or change vehicles quickly. If I have to leave the gun in the truck for a long period, I put the bag behind the rear seat in the double cab.

I know, it's a murse, but it works well for me.

I do not leave any firearm in my truck overnight and usually only if I am entering someplace that it is against the law to bring it in.

I just do not like leaving something like this in a vehicle.

I would not like to carry it under the seat as it can slide around and get stuck under the brake pedal or not be where it should be when I decide to extract it.
When it comes time to get it I need to be able to find it now.

For years I carried a Ruger Super Redhawk 44 mag with 9 inch barrell and a scope on it and generally kept it underneath my front seat. My preference nowadays is to carry compacts. In my Scion I keep a Rossi 357 mag in the glove box and in my Tacoma I carry a Ruger Alaskan 44 mag in my center console....

What I failed to say is that I found that it could take too long to pull out a larger pistol when I stored my Ruger Redhawk under the seat...

so what it boils down to is, if the gun is in the car, so am I, and since this is the case, center console is the best bet... This doesn't appeal to my mod bug.

Why can't you just carry it on your hip? A gun under the front seat is like having a pack of condoms in your glovebox. WORTHLESS.

95% of the time im in a social environment where displaying a weapon is totally inappropriate, if not illegal. For me, a CCW is, concealed, and only for when shit hits the fan.

For a long time, I've kept a Fobus holser underneath the steering column. When I get into the vehicle, the gun goes into a place where it's only accessible by me, and easily. I used the Fobus because the mechanism by which it clasps (pancake) fits perfectly in the space between the lower plastic shield and the steering column. It moves a little, but when I've removed the weapon it's never come out. It actually takes a little patience to remove the holster.
