It's a Bushnell Sport View and the seller claims it was purchased new with the gun back in 1986. He also claims the gun hasn't been fired in a very, very long time. Anything I should be aware of with a firm arm that may have been sitting around? I'll check to make sure it was cleaned and oiled before it was put away and that all the actions work freely, but anything I should pay attention to in particular?

I did do some research on the price of the gun on Gunbroker. The price seems in line with ones on that site given it's condition. I can find cheaper ones, but they look to have been bush guns and show signs of wear. Some of the new looking, well maintained ones are priced higher than this one.

If the thing is in real good condition I would probably buy it if I was looking for a lever gun, I have 2 already and one is a 336 in 30-30 made about the same time as yours.

I would also check the bore if I were you, I check the bores on all the use guns that I buy. Just make sure the rifling looks to be in good condition. Most people freak out when I look down the bore (only way to check some guns), bring a small flashlight with you to check it and everything else on the gun. Before you look down the bore, show the it an open action and get him to agree with you that it is empty, then warn him before you look down it lol.

If anyone else can point him in the right direction as to what to look for on these guns, please input, I love mine, just don't shoot it enough to know where it wears a lot.

Mine has been super reliable, always goes bang when I pull the trigger.

Speaking of 380's (previously), has anyone gotten their hands on a Beretta Pico yet? I'm thinking I may get one for the girl for her CCW and I'd like an honest opinion from someone who's shot one. I know they don't hit the market until August. She's shot an LCP and the size for her hand and carry needs was right but the trigger was lousy. I hear the trigger on these are better plus they come with full size sights. I saw her pretending not to be reading over my shoulder and drooling about one with a white frame.....:D

Thanks! In addition to what you mentioned, I was going to have the guy meet me at a range and put a few rounds down range also to make sure it cycles ammo properly. The thing looks mint and I do want a lever gun... Might have to be the next addition to my humble, yet growing, collection :D

My only problem with a white frame is that it could potentially increase target acquisition time due to drawing focus away from where you want it. Looks pretty but it could be a little distracting when you least want it to be. I've heard alright things about it as compared to an LCP (my current pocket & BUG) but haven't yet had a chance to fire one. It's also a fair bit bigger/heavier than an LCP so something else to consider.

Meeting at the range is a very good idea.

And just because, here is my 336 and my model '94 manufactured in 1914

There is no amount of money that would make me part with that '94, I inherited it, got the broken firing pin replaced and it now shoots wonderfully, it balances better than anything I have ever shot....with an m1 garand coming in a close second to balance, at least for shooting off hand

If you're a fan of the 1911 style handguns. Some people don't like them so a P238 would be the wrong choice for them.

    Perhaps higher rings?

That is what I needed to do with my 17 hmr, I changed scopes instead, but that is because my scope was just barely too big

Are they all variable papered scopes that you tried???

I'm not entirely sure but maybe the AK platform isn't the best for variable power scopes and they are better with red dots and maybe a magnifier.. ?? Please someone correct me if I
    am wrong...

New sights for the Glock - Warren Tactical with tritium front. I think I'll like them better than the XS set; I'll shoot this weekend & find out.

Overheard something about the laws being changed on that, though it may be that it was changed for only virgin receivers that you can build them as a pistol or rifle and change them to the other as long as you don't break any of the laws for whichever you have at the time (ie. no stock on a pistol upper)

a rifle can never become a pistol but a bare lower is transferred as "other" and is nether a pistol or a rifle

Yes I purchased this as a "multi" stripped lower. I was planning on going SBR with this one, but think I will keep it as a pistol and just start another for a SBR build. They're a blast to build.
