Hmmm, no critical duty for me I think, I'll stick with my hydra shocks. Your lucky it wasn't something a lot bigger that expanded better. On the bright side you know to Change carry ammo now

    Good luck with the healing

And the front sight fell off? Is it peened in, not dovetailed or pinned?

That sucks. But I gotta ask, why not just replace the sights for $140 and shoot it instead of throwing $600 in the dark corner of the safe never to see the light of day?

Ha, yeah... I had it dialed in a while back, but swapped out rails and just threw it back on when I got everything back from the gunsmith. It's been on the list for a while haha.

Thanks! You're right it's really pretty pointless, but it doesn't really get in the way of the ACOG.

I'll second that, the Tigers had a problem with the front sights breaking, most people who it happened to contacted roger and roger replaced them from what I remember. Or just go night sights and be done with it.

That blows. My P series Ruger's have been great, but once everybody and their brother started producing 1911s about 7 years back I decided that not everybody will get it right, and I'd rather stick to the main manufacturers.

Sounds like it's time to toss everything but the slide and frame and rebuild with a match barrel (I reccomend Kart), and use high end parts like Wilson, cylinder and slide, etc... Maybe some novaks for the sights. Make it a semi custom ruger and when you get done, ceramics it. The socom. Blue looks nice on a 1911.

I believe ruger also addressed the rusting issue on the 1911s as well. I'd contact them about all the problems Nd see what happens

    And pRdon the auto correct
