Depends on how you want to do it. Cheapest way is to just drop and HID bulb/kit in your halogen housings. This blinds the hell out of people (don't listen to people saying it doesn't. It does) The proper way is to spend a little more cash and do a proper retrofit which involves using actual HID projectors. I've done HID bulbs in halogen projectors before and I would never do it again.

I think kh7nm has a pair of retrofits

Not sure if you'd pass safety with HIDs with stock housing

    In need of $$$
If you want to do something small this weekend, you could do the fog light anytime mod, the mag light mod, the just put some Sylvania bulbs in your current lights, or the run down to 4wp or maui off road and do the get some new rims and tires mod.. lol..

As far as projectors, they are not considered DOT approved, so you would need to change them out every time you do your safety check.

Check your local laws first before you do it.

I think the main concern is the high/low

I got a retro kit for projectors let me take some pictures and I will post it up. The reason I am not going to use it, no room under the hood; running dual battery setup so the after market plug not going to fit.:D

Cold air, Sounds, lift, lights, exhaust and a canoe!
HID bulbs with out projectors will blind other drivers and are no where near as effective as they could be. Really people who use them with out projectors are 16 year olds getting 10,000k lights! " Oh dude, im gonna get some 10,000k lights and blind everyone! As long as I can see, I don't care!". I quoted myself when i was 16.

Ive since grown up and got a pair of Morimoto Minis w/ Apollo Shrouds

There extremely effective and worth every penny I spent on them. My only regret is all the money ive spent on hid bulbs when i could of eaisly bought the projector kit... which by the way come with the bulbs.

retrofit is the way to go...the regular pnp kit from racefactory will blind people like crazy. i honestly think the tacomas have the worst housings for the pnp kit.

lol…I just read this and a few years back I had some problems with the ballasts always going out. I think it was from off roading too much, as my brother only had a problem once with a ballast in his car this whole time.
The yellow nokyas that I had in my stock fog lights came from there…I never had a problem with those and I believe theyre still going inside another taco.

Those regular sylvanias arent that bad either…like 40something bucks at walmart?
